Yeah..

That's a given.

RX-8 is a loud car unleashed man.

Enjoying the backfires?? Each backfire= a flame :)

rx8montreal 01-08-2010 06:04 PM

fuck police will be all after me now :(

JantzenRX-8 01-08-2010 06:09 PM

You can throw a bunch of blankets in your trunk to get rid of some of the cabin noise.

Oil slick projectors and tack drop vessels along with top mounted howitzers will help that.

dozer 01-08-2010 06:13 PM

make sure you have no exhaust leaks, they tend to make the exhaust note A LOT louder, might wanna check the connection from the header to the midpipe and the midpipe to the catback...

Pico 01-08-2010 06:22 PM

Nice!
To loud for my taste but still a good mod

3 inches all the way is the way to go. Opened up and now breathing -- Awesome

rx8montreal 01-08-2010 06:40 PM

well its the dealer itself that made all mod to my car :) i doubt there is any leaks since everything is new too!

rubberduckie 01-08-2010 07:11 PM

wow. My exoticspeed s1-t exhaust is loud, and that is with a stock cat and headers. I couldn't imagine with a mid-pipe and headers...

RyansRx8 01-08-2010 07:17 PM

Make an exhaust video!!! My buddy in the area has an exoticspeed r1-t also it sounds great but its just the catback...I wanna here with the headers and midpipe!

tubingchamp 01-08-2010 07:36 PM

Should sound abit like mine...

I've got a midpipe with headers and AP exhaust..

Hehe... Yeah, loud.

But I have two resonators so..

sooooooooooo loud in car......... but i love it! last night i made a back fire while coming back home, i swear i felt it in the seats and light up my mirrors :)))))))))

You will find that a performance muffler that is designed to deaden the sound to be very, very helpful. Very helpful. You will see very, very small drops in power---perhaps 2 hp.

Mufflers have several properties. One of them is sound deadening. Get a performance muffler with sound deadening and you'll enjoy your car much better. It will still be loud and sound great but you'll ears won't ring all the time.

I use custom molded ear buds under a helmet when we race our cars and my ears will ring for a day or two after running the car. We run two mufflers and the car is still very, very loud (which several of you know).

Good luck.

EMart11b 01-09-2010 05:13 PM

Definitely not a leak but you could look into getting one of these inserts if it's too loud for you.

rx8montreal 01-09-2010 06:40 PM

i have 2 mufflers i have r1-t exoticspeed 3in cat-back :)

AJ's Shinka 01-09-2010 07:09 PM

Get a dual res midpipe, it should quiet thins down. Still 3' inches all the way through but it adds a little bit of weight. Worth it if you can't handle the LOUD.

Nice setup, my headers are sitting in the closet, still debating if I want all that LOUDNESS.

rx8montreal 01-09-2010 08:43 PM

no i love it.... its not too loud for me! just very loud in general :) i will stay this way! now i need a greedy turbo transplant since everything is solid to welcome it!

EMart11b 01-09-2010 08:50 PM

You know you'd have to ditch the headers if you went turbo, right?

rx8montreal 01-09-2010 09:20 PM

of course! i'll buy a manifold buddy or modifiy the header if possible :) but i doubt it! i'll just buy a cast one! i would love to run gt28r or 30r with external W/G aquamist water injection and liquid to air I/C

yokohamaboi 01-09-2010 10:07 PM

cast iron manifolds tend to crack. if you can. design a tubular manifold out of SS. :D

rx8montreal 01-09-2010 10:23 PM

i thought SS tended to crack more....hummmmmm interesting i'll modify mine then

J03K1LLARX8 01-09-2010 10:44 PM

I'm louder. :D:
