Exhaust shroud removal tip

I was installing my new exhaust system on Friday and stumbled upon how you can remove the exhaust shrouds more easily. (You have to do this as part of the exhaust install.)

I you spray the sides of part liberally with silicone lubricant, this part is much easier to remove. There are tabs holding this part into the bumper, but they are very stiff and do not really conform. Many forum members have broken these tabs during removal. Using a lubricant makes a significant difference.

I would not try WD-40 however. Not sure if that will damage the paint.

Good luck... ...

WD-40 will not destroy paint but it makes plastic material very brittle.
