exhaust question

Hello everyone
I just got my RX-8 a month ago and I'm enjoying it. Mind you, when I can take it over 4500 rpm I'll enjoy it more. 2800 km now.
Does anyone have the Racing Beat exhaust on their car in the Toronto, Canada area that can give me any feedback?

Why can't you take it over 4500 rpms?

Looked into this before buying and this break-in procedure came highly recommended from a friend of mine. He has a RX-8, followed this advice and has very low oil consumption and good power. Another friend got on it early and consumes double the oil and his RX-8 "feels" less torqey (sp)
I've got nothing to lose.
I have more time than $$

probably the break-in period, but i thought that was only 1000 miles, not 2800 kms, & limited to 4K rpms. whatever.

PS- You'll love the RB exhaust, should you decide to get it. Its not too loud, but you certainly know its there.

I never understood why RB thinks this is so needed... the engines are broken in from the factory, and even then minimal break-in should be needed. All they are doing is taking old time rotary break-in methods and saying it for the RX8.

But yah like you said, nothing to lose. I followed the owners manual break-in, which has nothing to do with rpm really just not keeping it constant. The owners manual one is more for an entire car break-in with the brakes and other parts most likely. My car is fine, good power, low oil consumption, etc.

Anyways, good luck and there should be sound clips on the forum of the RB exhaust if you can't find anyone local to show you.

Owners manual says 600 miles (1000km). And all it says is to not drive at high rpm or constant rpm for extended time. And no hard stops, no constant speed, bla bla bla.
