So, I could be totally wrong, but I remember reading somewhere that on the dyno you want as close to the 1:1 ratio as possible, which is normally 3rd or 4th gear on most cars.

If you look at the gearing on our cars, 5th gear is a PERFECT 1.00:1 ratio.

I wouldn't do it if I were you. The thermal stress is huge on the engine in anything over fourth gear.
