I installed the Revi/Duct a couple of weeks ago, last week was the first time I drove in a hard rain with this system. I did mix driving in the city and highway. On the highway, I followed large trucks that threw a good bit of water at the 8. In the city I hit a couple shallow puddles of water.

When I got home, I removed the air filter to see if any water got to the air box. I also wanted to see how hard it was to remove filter, with the Revi you have to remove the sway bar and MAF intake tube. The air box and filter was bone dry, their was only droplets of water at the bottom of the duct. I think you would really have to drive in deep standing water where the duct is submerged to get water into the air box and engine.

I did notice that the air screen was dented, must of happened when I removed the MAF tube. I fixed the dent since this could disrupt the airflow over the MAF.

Both the Revi "front" duct and the stock air box have water drains on them.

I've seen the drains on the duct, but I didn't see any in the airbox during the install.

 

There isn't any in the REVi box. He meant the factory airbox.

 

You shouldn't need a drain in the airbox, RB's or stock. If you get enough water to make that a concern, you are driving a submarine or at least where you shouldn't be.

 

i'd keep an eye on it... my SSV rusted up for an unknown reason (i have the stock airbox) - which required removing the intake manifod which requires removing the engine and tranny

lets just say a couple hundred dollar part that if not under warranty would be a couple thousand dollar bill

 

The mental image this created is very entertaining.

 

I found my stock airbox had drains, when it filled with oil. (I have issues! )
