Does an exhaust become quieter after some time?

Does an exhaust become quieter after some time? or am i going crazy?
I just installed a RB race exhaust the other day, and i swear it was louder yesterday than today.
It was too loud for me so I was seriously thinking about selling the exhaust (only after a day of use!!!) and putting on the stock one back on.
Today, it still is loud but if the exhaust is getting "less- louder" day by day, then I just might keep it. Any one have similar experience?

all stainless exhausts tend to get louder as they warm up.

not sure if that helps, but it is something i have noticed on all of them.

My stock exhaust has become much louder over time. Then again I still think my catalytic converter is not in the best condition anymore.

hey joseph, long time no see.

If you're going to change the exhaust to another one that sounds great and not too loud, I recommend Racing Beat's REV8 exhaust. I installed this one some time ago and I still think it's awesome. It's gotten a little louder over time but still sounds deep, smooth, and quiet enough to talk to people in the car. But if you drive through a tunnel and floor it... ooooh man

how's it going Logan.
Yeah. there's a guy around OC who wants to trade his rev8 exhaust to something louder. I'm thinking of doing a swap with the guy.
Hopefully he likes the sound of the race exhaust...

when are you going to track your 8 again?

hope to see you soon~!

SOW FTW!!!!

New exhausts will slowly get quieter over the first week or two as the carbon layer builts up - it helps damp the resonances.
