Does ECU prevent hp gains from aftermarket performance mods?

Does ECU prevent hp gains from aftermarket performance mods?

Any thoughts on this?

Well, it appears to be making it difficult to measure the effectiveness of any mods due to the problems putting the car on the chassis dyno that have been discussed in detail elsewhere. As far as the ECU actively working to counteract any aftermarket mod effects, have you seen something that indicates it is doing that? I haven't. I do think some people here have fairly unrealistic expectations as to the potentail gains of basic bolt-on upgrades such as an intake and exhaust.

A run at the drag strip or using a G-Tech will measure the performance increases. I'm sure there will be a way to defeat the ECU monitoring for the dyno, or at least I hope so :D .
