Do LS1 ignition coils work for RX-8
I've heard that LS1 ignition coils are a possible alternative to stock coils in the RX-8. Has anyone done this and if so could you please provide any information I might need to do this myself.

Well arent you guys helpfull. My friend heard about it .(heard about it). I have also seen 3 rotor 20.b articles about using LS1 ignition coils in place of stock coils .
I was just asking a question and I'm not making anything up. What s up with the snappy ignorant remarks?

Thanks . I'll let this thread go for a bit before pming anyone. As for asking why the 2 first posters on this thread bashed me for asking a valid question, Ive started a thread "Why do people do this ? " in the lounge. Feel free to comment there.
Still the question remains "can LS1 ignition coils be used as a alternative to stock ignition coils.Pro/Cons? Possible? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

No one searches AND no one follows links (post #5 above)
I'll make it easy for you
From RPM's post
My plan for this is to use a T04R BB turbo on the stripped down Renesis block and control everything with a new Haltech E6X using LS1 coils, which is the same turbo and ignition setup we used on our FC racecar that made 320whp at 11psi on pump fuel.

Any coil will "work".
Will it plug in? No.
There are no coils that will plug in, even if you had the right conversion harness.
The OE RX-8 coils are, apparently, the only positive-trigger "smart" coils on the planet.
LSx coils are negative-going trigger.
Now, if you want to build an interface...
Will it plug in? No.
