yea, a PC is for sure easier, but I'll add the options for those masochistic enough to attempt it... you have tablets too though, so it would probably be decent for that.

I always forget about tablets. lol. I've been contemplating shelling out the 600 bucks for an AP, but i never have 600 bucks at once, I'd have to do layaway. LOL

Also, I firmly believe in opensource and such, and prefer to tune my own car, instead of relying on someone elses tune.

Well you can tune your car with the accesstuner race so the 500$ for an accessport aren't too bad at the end of the day.
I would be cool to use a mobile phone like a pfc commander (pain to tune with, without datalogit) or access port, mainly to flash the stock pcm.
I'm not a programmer but intuitively building a program that deals with all the stuff our pcm does in a reliable way would take a bit of effort and debugging.
Add the fact that bricking a pcm is never fun... what if somebody calls you while you're flashing the pcm with your mobile phone and something happens?
A pc to obdII software would be easier and netbooks are fairly damn cheap nowadays.

Not complicated... you make the program take priority. You basically put it into an airplane type mode within the program while preforming "sensitive" operations, so you disable all . Chances of bricking are pretty low as long as you verify all variable types and lengths before porting anything. I wouldn't release anything without testing it quite a bit and trying to break things.

It's going to be a while before it's even testable... so yea.
