Works well, well turn on fans at about 190 deg.

Problem is idle quality as both fans come on. Some have it rougher than others, some not a problem. Might have been better if 1 fan came on at idle as oppose to both or if fan speed could variate.

worked great for me when i had my turbo 8, and keep the engine temps the coolest they had ever been since being turboed. No idle issues for me either.

It's great!

The RB flash controls the fans too. I wonder if the Cobb will turn them on early as well?

So, if I have the cooling kit installed and have the fans controled to run cooler at 190 degress would the Rb flash work well with it too?
I'm planning on the RB flash in a few months...

Fans come on at 195F and turn off at 185F

While I have not experienced any idle issues with mine (just a slight blip when they come on), the device comes with 2 connections - one for each fan - and you could ust hook one of them up to limit the electrical surge. This would leave the second fan to come on like normally programed.

Also, I understand that one fan is much larger than the other - you could play to determine which one to have to turn on (small or large) and then have the second one turn on with the earlier of the two original controllers.

Anyways, there is some experimenting you can do here if you don't want the current surge.

really simple mod, took me about 15 min.

with the RB flash its a little redundant though because the flash has it built in already iirc.

I agree this is a good idea.

I just think it would be an improvement of Mazsport's fan mod if they had developed it that way.

So that the 2nd fan comes on at a different temperature or only 1 fan on at idle.

With that said, the mod does it's job.

The idle on the 8 wasnt good to begin with. The cooling mod wasnt designed for hp it was designed to keep your 8 run cooler

I don't have this mod yet, but I plan to by the end of April for sure. I don't want to take a chance on discovering my 8's air conditioning can't handle the Phoenix summer heat when it is already too hot to work in my garage. Gotta get me a swamp cooler for the workshop one of these days...

So I also don't have any photos to share, but I thought these from the Mazport site were pretty good:

When I do this mod I will get photos and post them, but it will be a few weeks.

I only had idle issues with the int-x and cooling fan mod. Without both in place, the idle was fine.

Also if you use the oem fuse for one fan and the mazsport for the other, the fan still comes on sooner, but one fan is not capable of cooling the coolant temps as much as two by a long shot.

Mine could be something like that as I have the Re-Amemiya ECU flash and Mazsport fan mod. However, it is a very slight thing. I took the Mazsport fan mod on and off to feel the difference. I bought the Mazsport fan mode and insurance against being "reflashed" by my Mazda dealer, and its a cheap and effective mod. Note- not too long ago, there were not very many mods you could do.

I had my engine mounts go bad on me before, so I'm very clear on what bad idle is vs good idle.

However, I'm still waiting on Hymee or EFIDude to release their products. Then I will make some tweaks. Hehehehehe...

The RB flash and the AP both turn on the fans sooner.

So, I don't believe you need the Mazsport ccoling fan control kit.

Right now this is the only mod done to my car. I have definitely noticed that the fans turn off sooner after shutting down the car. I assume this is because the mod is keeping the coolant cooler (i.e. doing what it's supposed to).
Before this mod, on a warm day, my fans might continue to run for 30 seconds after I got out of the car. After the mod, they run for 5 seconds tops.

OCHO: just spend a little more and get either the RB flash or the Accessport from Mazdamaniac. Both of those drop the temperature requirements for the fans AND do some other nifty stuff to your car.
