Catalystic converter when caput.. now my rx8 has no power..

I spoke with the dealership and they said it whent into backup mode.

I was thinking if i just simpy remove the cat and put in a dummy o2 sensor.

What o2 dummy sensors are there which i can use?

Is there anything else i can do about this problem (exept getting a new cat, and sensor).

Id realy like to have an open exhaust

 

depends on your local law if open exhaust is legal or not.

Take a big drill bit and hollow that bitch out, of course. Just keep a replacement cat in your garage for inspections.

 

I would get a new one otherwise you will melt all that ice up there from increased polution and heat.
