Can the OEM flywheel be shaved?

Can the OEM flywheel be shaved? I did a search and came up with nothing. Anyone do this or know about it?

Thanks

Is not a good idea to shave the stock flywheel. The flywhel is part of the balancing of the e-shaft. When you get a lighter flywheel it comes with a balancer weight that come in the automatic motors.

Sorry my fault I wasn't specific enough. I have a brand new flywheel coming in the mail this week from www.dasio.com I wanted to lighten the flywheel for better performance. I know others who have done it on different cars and they were rebalanced during the process. I was curious if anyone had done this or knows how much can be shaved off for weight savings?

Thanks

Just make sure its balanced, you wouldn't wanna be sliced in half if it breaks loose.

why didn't you just buy a lightweight flywheel in the first place?

It can be done, you'll pay a lot more to do it that way though and the results may not pan out well ...

your link isn't valid either

Try that, http://www.diasio.com/

Was just a thought someone mentioned 75.00 to have the work done. But that's just word of mouth who knows if it was just bs.

ah, you got a new one for a reduced price

I doubt anyone will do it in the US for that price, these guys charge $180 but are located in Birmingham, AL. I suppose it comes down to how much they can remove, $75 would hardly cover the setup labor

Yah dirt cheap! I think I'll just stick with installing it correctly and not worry about shaving it down. Thanks for the input though.
