Borla Installation?

Whose done it? How hard is it? I'm afraid to crack open the box because I am really bad with these things.

So far, the biggest thing i've done to my (or any) car is added the OEM fog lights. I'm worried about this project though, anyone done it before that could give tips/advice? or maybe a price of installation :p

I've always been kinda hesitant to lift the car up to get under it, stuff like that scares the hell out of me. Anyway any tips or even a D.I.Y. print out with instructions would rock!

Thanks.

There are several DIY threads on this subject.

The install of the borla is easy, as long as you've got a way to get under the car. All you do is take the stock exhaust off a few rubber hangers, and unbolt the end of it (two bolts hold it on). Then reverse the process to get the new exhaust on. It should take someone who knows what they're doing about 30 mins. If you're doing it for the first time, likely around an hour.

It's really not any harder than taking off your gas cap.

I did it myself, on ramps in the driveway, in about 30 minutes. Just have something slippery to put on the hangers to help remove the rubber hangers (I use a little Dawn on my fingertip).

Remove the two bolts at the catalytic converter first and reinstall them last. Pics of the before and after at the link in my signature.

I installed my Racing Beat exhaust myself. I needed a hand lifting it in place, but the rest was easy. Definitely search the DIY threads for a step by step with photos to get an idea of what's involved.

Ramps....

Yeah, easy with ramps at the back wheels.

Follow the DIY, and add my tip - a squirt of silicone rubber lube on each hanger.
Really tough without, but it worked so well, I was afraid the supports would slide right back out of the rubber hangers!

Holy crap batman $80 for 30 min work?!?!?! Can I install something for you? At $160 bucks an hour I would be living large! :p

One thing that needs to be pointed out is that the exhaust finishers need to be removed in order to remove the factory one-piece exhaust while laying under your car in your driveway. To remove the finishers allows one to merely drop the stock exhaust as opposed to swinging it out of the way.

No need to remove them. Once you unbolt the exhaust from the cat, you can pull the entire exhaust towards the front of the car, then down and out. Removing the exhaust finishers was something I thought I would need to do, I had one removed but turned out to be a waste of time.

I think im just going to have it installed by a 3rd party. I was quoted $40 for the installation. I would rather have it done by a pro, than by me.
