Borla Exhaust looking for R&D partner with 2009-2011 RX-8

Hello all,
This is Chris Higgins from Borla Exhaust (www.borla.com). We’re working on an R&D project in our Oxnard, CA location and would like to borrow your 2009-2011 RX-8 for about 1-2 weeks. When we’re all done, we’ll give you a free exhaust with installation.

If you’re interested or have any questions, please call me directly at 805-246-6000. Thanks & happy motoring!

Its always nice to get kicked down some free exhaust and Chris hooked me up with a cat back for my 04. Sounded much beefier than the stock setup. Its too bad my engine died but once it gets going again it will be nice to hear that Borla purr. Whoever get is will definitely enjoy it.

Argh. Why are these offers always so far away from where I live?! Maybe I need to move.

You will have better luck trying in the s2 subforums! There you should get the needed attention for this great offer.
Somebody's gonna be lucky and happy!

I'm down, just send a flatbed over to transport my car, with a loaner for me (preferably a suv). Lets talk dates

Saw this in the catalog, but didn't see much mention of it on the site:

1.3L 2CYL RWD AT/MT 4DR || 09-11 || Cat-Back™ System 3”, 2.25” Split Rear || 35 3.5” x 2.75” OV x 5.5” || 140393

...any pics of this S2 exhaust?

Last time I contacted Chris Higgins, he said they still hadn't found a Series II for development. It wasn't that long ago, but I PM-ed him again.

Yea at first i thought it was the same as the 03-08 one, but the product numbers are different so maybe he has a secret up his sleeve

If he hasn't found a series-2 rx8 I would seriously consider driving down to cali and letting them have my car for a week or two. I just don't see how they could have not found a car by now, also makes me wonder why nobody has volunteered....

Zumn just needs to let someone else get a prototype exhaust this time. :

(I know HE didn't get the last one, he just helped the other person get it)

Just doing the math I could drive down there and back for $130. Then add in $15-20 for my friend to take me to the airport to fly back to vegas for a week or two, the flight should be $20 or less. Then fly back also for $20 and My friend takes me up there to pickup the car for a (hopefully) grand total of maybe $200 which is a deal for an great quality Borla exhaust. That is not 100% either, but if all went to plan that is how it would go down. Depends how much taxes are on a flight from lax to las and back.

Of course we don't even know if this deal is still available or not. I am sure they would rather take a California car anyway. I just want to get rid of this damn stock exhaust so this shitty ricer rasp goes away.

WOW, c'mon S2 guys, I know there's at least one car within a 100 miles of Oxnard that would want this. Maybe you should change the title to "Free S2 Exhaust" that will reel 'em in.

There are not that many S2s around. Look at the activity in the respective sections. I'm sure someone will step up soon.

The 09-11 part number is 140393, as paimon said.. Just talked to Chris and yes they had this taken care of a while ago. Might as well lock this up.
