FINALLY!
Latest member to receive the Borla catback and I'm bouncin' off the wall, I'm so excited! It's a beautiful 63º sunshiney day here (in sunny FL), PERFECT for installing the exhaust.............BUT!!!
I've got classes/work and an exam to study for tomorrow
The install will have to wait, but the fact that the system is sitting in my living room makes it OK, and makes me feel all tingly inside.

I have read in the past that the Borla system sounds and performs great. Who has the cheapest price on this exhaust system? Anyone have opinions on this system?

they may sound great, but the performance gains are minimal. not to knock the system, b/c from every testimonial owners love them, but just dont expect it to be a real performance upgrade
Borla Install
I'm sure there is already a thread on this, maybe i missed it. Has anyone posted pics of the installation of the borla exhaust? Is it really as eas as everyone says?
i don't have access to a lift, i do have ramps(about 12in) i can back the car onto. Will that be enough room?

also there were a couple of posts about hearing a rattle after install it turned out to be a hanger too close to something. just needed to be heated and bent. perhaps this has been fixed in later versions.
Notes from my install.....
--Just ramps at the back gave EXACTLY enough room to get the old bits out in one piece.
--A quick spray of SILICONE LUBE on each rubber hanger slid them off like '**** off a shiny shovel'. Eased the new supports in so easy, I worried they might fall out!
-- I DID have to go back under and bend the support away from the differential, maybe half an inch, but, as zoom said, maybe that is fixed in later models.
(and made my own ground strap)

I just bought the system for $600 shipped to me. However before it gets here I wanted to ask those of you that have doen the installation already a few questions. What tools do I need to remove the stock pipe before the cat? The jangers can come lose with lube? And lastly, what the heck do i really need the ground for? Chime in!

There are several posts on this already...
But I think 15 and 17mm sockets is all you need. Also, depending on the ramps you use (if you've got enough clearance), you probably won't have to mess with the exhaust finishers. With my Rhino ramps, I had to take off one of the finishers, and that was enough to slide the exhaust out.
Supposedly you'll trip a CEL if the ground is not properly installed...for this you'll need an M6 1.0 nut (metric 6) and an 8mm socket.

I would reccomend taking them both off or at least popping them loose and pulling them out a bit. I tried pusing it out w/ only one finisher off and noticed i was jamming the exhaust into the brake line. So make sure you pay attention to where your brake line is.
