Rikki, that hanger clears fine. It may be my idle which is around 800 RPM. there isn't any rattling, just the exhuast vibrates a little, only when the car is warmed, kinda like a hopped up mustang, but not that severve.

Best question might be, can you tell specifically where the rattle is coming from, maybe by laying down under the muffler while the car is running and listening? You can help pinpoint a specific area of noise by using a short length of hollow tube or hose.

It's not a rattle. It's the exhuast vibrating at idle, 800RPM, anything higher and it's just fine. Myabe it's just the norm, everthing is tight and there is plenty of clearance by the diff.

Have had my Borla for about a week and love it (knew I would, had one on the Miata). Didn't remove wheels or any trim or exhaust ports. But I couldn't separate the cat-to-muffler pipe on the stock system from the muffler, so, assuming I wasn't going to reinstall the stock system, I got my angle grinder and cut it off just upstream of the clamp. After that, everything was slick. Sprayed the hangers with Armor-all so they'd come off easier and then used a big, long screwdriver to pry them off. Reassembly was a snap. No buzz, no rattle, and quieter from inside than I had expected. But definitely a healthy sound from the outside.

The exhaust simply bolts on, and no other adjustment is needed, to the engine or otherwise. Highly recommended!

no adjustment necessary to the engine. i plan on ordering borla in 2 weeks. it's a simple add on, maybe an hour or an hour and a half of work. it'll give hp and maybe save some fuel :P and did i mention it sounds great? i can't wait!

Real simple. It was my first time installing an aftermarket exhaust myself and a friend and I had it done in less than an hour. I had to get back under the car to take care of a rattle (documented in other threads) but that was pretty simple also.

No way, buy the best you can afford. Do you think you can get a better JDM exhuast for $550? Even $1000? I think not, unless your goal is to have your 8 to sound like a chainsaw.

In another message board about 3 months, i found a guy who just got borla as a wholesaler, but before he could be a permanent seller, he had to get $7000 dollars worth of orders. So i asked him how much for the Rx-8? he told me $500 shipped (still a great deal!) so i was in. he also said that if i can get more people to buy, the cheaper mine would be. So i got a bunch of other cars to go with mine and each person i got, it was -$50 from my order. That's how i got it for $350. But the catch was he couldn't ship until he got the complete $7000 order. He just did that 2 weeks ago and has shipped me a couple of my friends' exhausts but no rx-8 yet. i e-mailed him if can order some extra ones but he said he has to sell them alot higher now bec. he didn't make a profit at all!
