After about a month of research looking for a semi-loud good exhaust that has good tone and isn't a pain to install ive come to the conclusion of going with a Borla.

The other ones I looked at were:

Agency Power Catback (sounded great but apparently fittiment problems and melting shrouds?)
Blue Flame Catback (One of the best sounding but a bit to quiet until punching it)
Greddy SE Catback (Ricey and quiet?)
Exoticspeed S1-T/R1-T Catback (possibly to loud?)
Borla Catback (sounded good easy install bad with midpipes?)

I havent ordered the exhaust yet and wont until tomorrow so if anyone can add to this ide appreciate it or throw another into the mix. I do want to get a midpipe down the road I believe and understand it will greatly increase the dB output (which is why the Greddy SE came to mind with the Mid should sound nice but dont know)

Im a little to picky about exhausts but I dont know which would be best for a midpipe and which midpipe is best for sound and CEL?

Any Info will help, a group of friends of mine also have 8's and are in the same boat as me so we are all pulling from this info lol.

Borla is awesome with stock cat.

However it has a bad dronewith all current midpipes except the dual-resonator Mazsport midpipe which is no longer sold new. There is another DR midpipe RacingBeat is developing that should give same drone reduction and there are a few other midpipes like BHRs that may or may not manage to kill the Borla drone.

You may want to look at the Hymee exhaust as well. Allegedly has a similar sound to the Borla w/o the drone. Pricier too.

Or just find a used Mazsport DR out there if RB doesn't manage to get their product to market.

All non-cat midpipes throw a CEL for +90% of 8s. Get a piece of electrical tape or a AccessPort to mask the CEL.

 

idk about other exhausts but greddy sp2 + rp super cat is sex. greddy sp2 alone is quite when you want it to be and loud when you push it.

 

I like the sound of borla and from what ive heard with ap midpipe is sounds great but havent heard it other then youtube and they really dont do exhaust sounds justice. Im just looking for a good Semi loud setup without being annoying to others. =/ Exhaust + Midpipe, Possibly just exhaust and i like ap, but im worried about the shrouds melting and i like nice exhaust tips lol as bad as that sounds.

Thats why the greddy se is in the list lol but its so quiet i dont think its worth it, what would a midpipe do exactly to the loudness of a quiet system.

sorry for the questions but i dont know much at all about midpipes, and in the case of the CEL it doesnt matter ill go for one that sounds good.

 

Maybe the "Mazsport" mid-pipe can't be purchased new, but Fluid sells them new.
Which makes me wonder... do we now call that pipe "Fluid's Dual-Resonated Mid-pipe"?
