No, France is a pain in the ***. Wanna know something funny ? Friend of mine ordered apex seals in US for my engine, they came to the airport in Paris... And due to france's brilliant idiots working for the customs...

It came back to US.

Good job !. God dammit, i hate this country. ( oh i guess you've eared our brilliant political "Dominique Strauss-kahn " recent fact in a NY Hotel, forced a maid to sex and runaway to airport... This guys was the favourite for our presidential's elections in 2012 even everybody here knew he was a perv' with pedobear's faces, you can't imagine what it is, i tell you... We're like living in a comedy, like "dumb' and dumber" with Jim Carrey... )

Just figured I would make a comment in here since I looked up the mileage.

I just passed 18,000 miles on the BHR midpipe, including an unusually harsh new england winter, and it is still running perfect.

Also make sure that the pipe is fully settled and try to re-seat everything after a few hot/cold cycles before thinking the rattles are internal.

If the rattles are internal, as with EVERYTHING we manufacture our customers are more than "covered".
I noticed that some of the rattles were from the pipe flange (to the catback) and hanger hitting the heatshield. I simply bent my heatshield with a pry bar to accomodate.

Yeah, I checked everything over. Everything seems to be in good shape. Not much could be wrong I would hope, it only has gone 24k kms.. The only 'power' mod I have is an AEM intake.

Some good news, I pulled the battery and reset the KAM (following series II procedure) and the light disappeared and has not returned. However, the car doesn't seem to be pulling as hard as before. Can someone please tell me I'm crazy? I would like to think it is all psychological.

Yeah, since everything is working so far I'll drive the car for a bit more and see what happens.

When I have time, I'll inspect the plugs/coils. I've been looking for an excuse to order your ignition kit early instead of 2012 :D

Thanks for the replies.

Please help out this noob. On the BHR site I only see the resonated mid pipe. What is the difference between a resonated and a nonresonated midpipe? Does BHR make a non resonated midpipe. I was thinking of only replacing the Cat. Can some one help me with the pros and cons. Thanks in advance,

Mark

It's just a terminology education you need apparently

OEM Exhaust system is comprised of 3 pieces of piping: the Header, the catalytic converter (the cat), and the mufflers. The center section is either 'the cat', if you have one, or a 'midpipe' (mid meaning it is the middle section). Everything rearward of that piece is the 'cat back'.

So, BHR's product fits the middle section of your exhaust, replacing the OEM cat (or whatever else you had there if you don't have the cat).

BHR's only product for this midpipe is a resonated midpipe. 'Resonated' meaning that it has a resonator inside of it to manage the noise level and noise quality. If you want a non-resonated midpipe, then any exhaust shop could make you a straight tube with flanges on the end, but it will be really loud, really raspy, and generally get on your nerves and the nerves of every drive in hearing range, including the cops.

With 1 exception, other midpipes manage the noise level by adding packing inside of them. This packing can be several different materials, but usually a metal wool of a sort. These can not stand up to the rotary's heat, and it only takes a few thousand miles to melt through and blow out the packing.

That 1 exception is Racing Beat's dual-resonated midpipe, which uses welded resonators inside of the pipe to try to deal with the noise. However, they are only successful in making it quieter, but they are unable to do anything with the noise quality.

BHR's midpipe uses 1 resonator designed for the rotary, and not only does it effectively quiet the noise down to just about OEM level, it also retains the exhaust note of whatever catback exhaust you have on. It doesn't mess with it at all. So if you have the OEM catback, and you put the BHR midpipe on, then your car will be slightly louder than stock, but it will audibly have the same tone.

Now, for replacing the cat with a midpipe pros and cons:

Pros:
More power (a bit)
Lets more heat leave the engine area
Can't cause sensor or engine problems if it fails

Cons:
You will probably get a check engine light for emissions system failure unless you have an AccessPORT that blocks the CEL
You won't pass a sniffer test for emissions
You will be able to smell exhaust and fuel fumes more easily (so will the people around you. This is a big problem for some people)
