As for those who are on the pre-order list; I will be contacting you as soon as we know the new resonators are going to sustain the Renesis and The Magnificent Seven have been taken care of.
Magnificent Six.

Did you say flanges?

Fire is very primal.. i think that's the 4th video of my car i've seen from that day.

And i didn't even buy it for the flames.. bought it for the sound and quality.

So this past week I have had an opportunity to run your midpipe prototype from Marc's 8 (Zelse here on the forums), as my stock cat decided to get massively clogged on me on Christmas Eve, with a 1,500 mile round trip to visit my family on the 26th. With no dealer even open to have a chance at addressing it in time, it was "borrow someone elses or don't go at all". I put an appeal out, and Marc answered, offering up the midpipe since his 8 is in storage until March.

It should be noted that just prior to this, in an attempt to diagnose my 8-9mpg average and massive loss of power (pedal to the floor in 3rd couldn't get me above 60mph), I installed brand new coils, plugs, wires, air filter, cleaned the MAF, reset the trims and e-shaft sensor, so a pretty fresh 8 otherwise. I also recognize that this is just a prototype, and that you already made changes to it, and Marc said that the resonator is cracked, so I understand that it might not be entirely 'perfect' from your point of view.

Still, I felt that you deserve my feedback on it, and might find it useful.

Cue lots of being cold and wet laying on the ground under my 8 banging away at rusted bolts to get my cat off.

So morning of the 26th, I get the midpipe on finally and take it for a test spin to make sure the power loss problem was solved (it was, my cat looks like the innards of a trash incinerator), and take off on the 10+hr trip to Ohio. Initially, I couldn't open it up all that much, since it was pouring rain and hovering at freezing for most of the day until nightfall, when it did freeze and I had to stop for several hours until they salted down the black ice, so the next morning finishing the trip I finally got a chance to really open it up, and then again on the way home, I couldn't resist going WOT on every on ramp

Installation:
It was a perfect fit to stock header and stock catback, and noticeably lighter than my stock cat, so installation was a breeze.

Tone: (with stock cat-back)
Tone is awesome. At cruise and light throttle, it sounds identical to stock. Easy to slip by police without arousing their suspicions. Under more moderate load, there is no annoying rasp, but a pleasant buzz. Under WOT, the sound is heavenly. A bit deeper than stock, a nice bit louder without being annoyingly loud, and nothing unpleasant about it. I also couldn't seem to find that "4k rasp" that everyone assured me that I would get to experience on the long cruises. Absolutely no interference to my senses on my long drives.

Power:
Granted, I went from a heavily clogged cat to free flowing, but the power gain was definitely there. On wet roads, just wet, no standing water, I could break traction from a stop in first gear, however once I had traction, I never lost it again in any gear. I don't know how much of it was attributable to the midpipe vs the brand new ignition, air filter, and MAF, but under WOT, I could feel the tires just barely breaking free the entire way through first, from a stop or not. I also broke the rear end loose in 2nd on a ramp with just power, not being harsh on clutch or gas, also not something I had been able to do before.

Quite satisfactory.

CEL:
I initially got a CEL from no-cat, however yesterday when I ran to the store, I noticed my CEL is gone. So not sure why, but I join the ranks of people without a CAT that also no longer have a CEL...before blocking from an AP (which I do not have).

Gas Mileage:
No direct noticeable change from when my 8 was healthy. I usually run 18-22mpg, and that is still where I am, although the first tank on the trip did show 24mpg, but I have hit it before, and was trying to hit that to verify that my mileage was back to normal. It was too boring though, especially with an awesome midpipe, so I went back to romping on it whenever I had the chance, and it dropped back into the 18-22mpg range.

So there you go. This definitely will leave me more than a bit sorry to give it back to Marc this coming weekend, and it certainly is the top of my list of power-adders (once I can start spending money on mods).

Woohoo!! I'm looking forward to ditching this piece of crap mid-pipe that I mistakenly bought many years ago. I'm sure I will give the new pipe quite a flogging if I can avoid sleeping with it this time.

As I've said it before and I'll say it again..and I think Mike (RIWWP) can agree with me... if the midpipe I have now is this kick ***, and it's "broken" persay.... could you imagine what the final outcome is going to be like?

This will be a must get midpipe. I have had the agency power one and it makes the 8 sound like a ricer with a free flowing exhaust... I have a fellow 8 owner on this forum who has been pulled over 3 times in 6 months with the ap midpipe / exhaust combo..... I'll be gettin one just because CA sucks and I want the sound you are describing, plus the performance and BHR reliability and quality!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
