hey guys first post just trying to see what kind of power people have been seing out of 8s personally i think RX-8s are going to be huge scca race cars in future years....anyway what is the most performance you have seen so far come out of an eight?

 

The triple rotor 20B turbo with 900 hp, is the most I've heard of.

Acosta Racing is a tuning company. They took a 3 rotor 2.0 liter rotary and swapped out out 1.3 liter 2 rotor. The 20b is also twin-turbo. They tuned the crap out of it and it makes about 900 horsepower. I don't have any links handy, but run a search for acosta racing and you'll find a few threads about it. I think the swap costs 25 grand or so

 

the one i heard about is $41,000. give them your 8 you get back a TT 20b that will make a grown man cry...not sure of the site either. i guess i could search.

 

I think the Acosta Racing car was about 600 whp w/o the nitrous. With the nitrous it was around 900 crank hp. They took on a 911 TT that was running about 800 hp. I'm not sure what ever happened for that race off.
