There are 5 speeds rx8's. In Europe and Japan markets there's a 5 speed with the low power engine.

 

well i installed the shifter without the green padding and it was alil to loud but it did sound cool haha....so i put the green padding back in and for some reason i couldnt hear ANYTHING! even when i tried to listen for it i couldnt hear it...go figure,so i left it in there

 

Interesting.... Mine is a bit loud, even when I'm just driving and dont' have my hand on the shifter. Maybe I'll try putting that little piece back in. DAmn, now I just gotta find the stupid thing.

 

yeah, it's a AT 4 port engine, fited with a 5 spd manual gearbox. don't laugh

No it will not work in the 5 speed. We looked at the 5 speed and it is closer to the Rx7 style but not the same. We thought about making it but didn't have a car to work with. I even sent an Rx7 SS to someone in EU to fit but it was different.

 

aww, rats.... anyone wanna swap 6 man for a 5 man? c'mooon, guys! :D

weeell, if you ever think of moving to europe, close to romania, you'll have a 5 speed to work on for both the SS and the supercharger
