As much as I understand all of the above forementioned. You CAN NOT fault anyone for asking for a simple e-mail shipping notification. I think this is something we've all gotten used to receiving from anything we buy online...

I apologize if I'm causing an "inconvenience" wondering where my shifter is...

If I was RP, I'd make the woman do it, then there is no "hassle"

Hey... Easy Killer!
I was not blaming anyone for being anxious! A couple $bills$ Plus a toy that many have been waiting weeks just for the GB go into affect can make anyone a little impatient. I was just updating what was going on.

If you need it that bad.. I will pull mine out tomorrow morning. I'll clean it up, re-grease it, pack it and ship it to you... "With a Shipping Confirmation/Notification". A Confirmation, BTW that USPS does not update until after it has been delivered anyway.

Just PM me your PayPal Payment Info with your Shipping Address if you want me to do this. RP can mail yours to me... or if you get 2... send mine back!

RP was reluctant to offer a GB cause of the management hassle it entails... This was the hassle that I spoke of. Managing who, what, where, why and when is a pain, and not having to deal with that is what made the GB possible for both RP and us. He Makes, He QC's, He Packs, He Prints Labels of those whom Paid & He Ships. I was not saying your inquiry was the hassle.

It is what it is. RP is Honorable and you will receive it soon. If you wish not to deal with the unknown of did yours already ship or will it ship no later than this Tuesday, then I will send you mine! Not a problem bro... So what do ya want me to do?

I hate to see a grown cry, don't you?
I have a shifter at home that I keep here to show people who think I don't do anything for a living. I'm sending it to you Vengeance, in the morning.
Not allowing Vice Grip to take his out, that's silly.

Don't know where you live without looking it up at work but it's 2-3 days and you'll be free.

We aim to please.

I hope I'm one of the first Since it was me who paved the way for the GB list And I know that I left my GB# and screen name on the comments section, so all should be good.

Thanks for the updates and the efforts vIce and RP. Rather have it right the first time then in and out of the car 3 times.

Yeah, this sounds like a great idea, I'm obviously demanding SOOO much... Didn't you see me screaming

"Give me my money back you scamster, omfg you're not sending it are you ripoff artist!!!"

RP, I apologize if I came across as unreasonable and a whiny bastard, not my intention. After a few beers at the bar Vice's post looked to me like we were being told to stop asking about shipping because it was an inconveinence.

I don't know about everyone else but my 250$ was sent last Thursdaywhich is well over 1 week ago. I don't think asking for a shipping update after they have actually been shipped is too much all considering.

I appreciate everyone's ability to jump down my throat though... Asthma was kicking up this morning, and it was a bit closed up... That's not a problem anymore!

The important update was a picture of the current moon phase?

And to all!

It is commonly accepted that the Full Moon makes people more irritable and edgy... Though Scientifically they say there is no real proof... I for one know that When the Full Moon comes around I find myself being an involuntary ***** to my wife and rather short with friends, colleagues and other humans in my path.

Vengeance kinda just proved my theory... A few Beers, Full Moon and read my post as kinda a personal attack. The Edgy part snapped and he responded! I did not take it personal, and gave the Moon some credit... (Like it or Not - [And I am Not some Tree Humpin Zodiac Hippie Either]).

GB's work differently and the complication or RP agreeing to run one in the middle of a move caused some delays... Not that this wasn't made clear from the beginning. Everyone knew that he ONLY HAD 3 in stock and would have to run another 100 as a direct result of the GB. Then it was made clear that once the Quota was hit, he would be moving his shop. It also was in the middle of testing his SC with the Deceptor-X.. Dynos RUns, Travel Etc. When does the guy get a chance to "Pickle tha Sausage"?

I will take full blame for creating the Payment page when RP did not have the product in hand ready to ship. He knew that I was waiting for him to create the PayPal buttons for the GB. AFter his post noting that "He was the Hold Up" posted, people were getting excited. I was fueled too! So I modified the code from the Regular Priced SS PayButton for the GB buttons... "WITHOUT an OK from RP".
From my past experiences with GB's it usually takes near a week for the mass to Anti-up. In this case I was proven wrong on both points... Many paid within a couple days and within a weeks time we had a 93% turn out. I claimed 80% was more on par.

Anyway... Lets no bash one another! This is a good thing for everyone... I will ask again that we be just a little more patient than normal.

And I mean it... I still have my stock shifter in my trunk that I carry around to meets... I will Pull my RPSS out if you really feel that you are being treated sub-human! The whole process only takes about 10 minutes.

[QUOTE=Richard Paul]We had a little QC problem with the white sleeve that goes around the shaft. This is a boot bushing. Most of what came off the lathe were oversize inside. They slipped on the shaft. QUOTE]

RP - mine showed up today.

Question - how tight does the sleeve need to be? Mine can move up and down a bit (1/4" about). Should it be at the top or bottom of the travel?

Thanks.

It's OK for the sleeve to be a little loose as long as it doesn't fall down. It doesn't matter if you put it up or down because it will be down after you press the rubber boot around it. That's all does is form a surface for the stock boot to fit on.

Anyway they should be running new ones at the shop. I'm not there right now but will be on my way in an hour.

One thing I noticed was that on the DIY by Gomez is that his shifter came with grease on it. Does the new design require it and if so what kind do you recommend?

As I recall you should receive the Shifter... Plug-N-Play. It should be ready to install without any additional labor.
DIY Install here... http://axialflow.com/ss8_diy.htm

I will begin to update RPs site... received/shipped.

Everyone else is going to have bragging rights on when they do the installation. I got a couple of weeks before I have time scheduled to do the installation. That's ok. Having the mod early is a good thing.

RP - thanks, that's what I thought. Mine was "up" and it looked a little strange because of the gap between the plastic and the tapered shaft. No gap when it's down.

Received mine today. Installed in 15 minutes because I had some trouble being "gentle" with the back right clip. I decided to just yank it, and the whole center console piece came off without breaking any tabs...

I must say this is absolutely 100% worth every freakin penny. I totally thought "How much shorter could the throw get?"

I am astonished as to the greatness of this part, it appears that for once, everyone is right. Well worth the wait no matter how much I cried about shipping notifications.

Mod Rating: A++

got mine today.. haven't tried it out yet but i'm about to go for a drive now.. it certainly feels great.. and i can already tell the 4-5 shift will take some getting used to because its so short now.. good stuff, RP!

aside:
10 min install time as claimed is questionable... yes, the instructions are straight fwd, and i'm capable with my hands, but it took me 20 from the time i got the tools to completion..i had to work a bit with the lower right tab and the wiring harness clips. those along with the different screws/nuts etc should be more in the 15-20 min range if it's the first time getting under the console..not sure how they installed it in 10 (shrug)

just from initial impressions.. i'd have to echo what everybody's saying.. this is definitely worth the money.. it's a must have mod like the clear corners IMO

The last ones are going out today.
I'm stagering the Canadian shipments because we don't want them all hitting customs at once. I can't ship to many gifts at one time.

I know about those harness clips. They take the most time. I use a small needlenose and a tweezers to remove them. I'm thinking of making a tool though, just a little sleeve with a taper should do it.
