that is kinda weird. I got in on the second production run, and it was quite some time before mine came off. I have had no problems since solving the issue the way I did. you must just be lucky.

I find this thread a bit curious because when I bought the RB screen kit I noticed that they provided the proper Tinnerman clips but the bolts/screws that came with the kit were wrong. I e-mailed them on which bolts were proper and followed current environmental standards. I even offered send them a box of 1,000 bolts for free just so they could instantly correct the situation at no expense to themselves. What I got was a rather terse response and a "No, thanks". I love RB and their product line but my example and the one provided in this thread just prove that everybody misses a detail or two now and then.

Yep, the condenser and oil cooler screens. I don't know if they changed the hardware they supply but when I got my screen kit a couple years ago they included 10MM bolts that were not the proper ones to be used with the Tinnerman clips they also provide. Working for Ford on the assembly line I see these clips, and the bolts, all day long. The bolts the OEMs use with the clips are a self-tapping, tapered, type and they have a zinc coating on them that prevents rusting and is enviro-friendly.

Don't want to hi-jack the thread, but I went and looked. Mine's been on about a month and directions say now to use the OEM bolts(although I think they sent 4 10mm just in case). I used the OEM as you describe above, but there were no clips, the bolted right in. The recieving end was already tapped for those bolts. They must have listened huh?

Now back to our regulary scheduled post.

did you have to remove the vacuum line from this little air inlet to install your AEM, if so, then you will want to make sure that whatever was supplied to you to cap that inlet., stays in place.

just got back and checked on the 8, looks like AEM provided a dark grey cap that goes over the air inlet. it's snug. but thanks for the heads up on future things to check on when at the gas station.
