I am seeing the same things. Sometimes I wish I didn't have a WWP. I cut the affected area of the shroud away so that isn't bothering me any more. Regarding the way the exhaust discolors the paint, I wash the car frequently anyway so I am not too worried about it. Maybe I will look at using some of that "Clear Bra" materiel, though that presents its own set of problems. The thing that I am having a hard time getting use to is the volume......it's LOUD. i think part of the problem is that the trunk acts like a giant resonating chamber and amplifies the volume (maybe dynomat the trunk). Just seems like I don't want to chase this problem unless I decide I am really happy with the exhaust. I do like the way it sounds, maybe I'm just getting too old????

This is why I had 3" Magnaflow tips welded to the stock exhaust. Not worth the trouble.

were you running the stock midpipe with your RB???

I don't think so, although these tips are a bit on the large side. I think it is just from the increased emissions due to the cat not being present. The paint was not burned (at least yet?), just discolored. Whatever it was, it did come right off with a little elbow grease.

it seems like yellow stuff appears on top of the paint, comes off easily when i wash the 8.

i was running a catless midpipe (non resonated) with the racing beat exhaust

This is what i do to remove discoleration on my paint, i have a WWP anyways. buy a orbital buffer and some buffing pads, buy megiuars paint clearner. put some on the buffer and on the paint, Should come right off like nothing. then switch pads and put wax :D done!

thats it and enjoy the shine with no yellow. as for the burnt shrounds. in gonna get a MS rear bumper paint it black, and hope clear bra works

lol the ap will inevitably melt your shrouds.. nothing you can do. if it's not worth it for you, trade it for an exhaust with smaller tips, like the borla

I don't think the size of the tips causes the melting issue, at least for me. My shrouds were melting farther back where the exhaust comes out of the mufflers and turns to the tip. I took a few min with a dremmel and cut the underside of the shrouds away and that seems to have done the trick. Not an Ideal solution, but it will do.

I also put a thick blanket in the trunk and that cut down on the noise in the car significantly. The whole trunk seems to be acting as a resonating chamber and amplifying the volume, aspecially from 3800-4500 RPM range. I think I may dynomat the whole trunk floor. I looked at some "light weight" dynomat today that I may use. Any suggestions/experience with this issue out there????

Regardless of all this, I love the sound of the exhaust.

+1
I also noticed my shrouds melted behind where the tips are riveted onto the pipe.
