There are multiple intake solutions available from various manufacturers. Mazdaspeed and AEM are the two CAI I can think of. Other then those you have items from RacingBeet, HKS and K&N that replace the stock airbox.
1) Why did you buy a part that you didn't like the look of?
2) Why do you care about how a part looks? Is it a show car?
3) What are you really looking to get out of this mod?

Go head over to FluidMotorsports and check out what Brice has. Lots of pictures for you to consider. None of them look very pretty though. Racing Beat at least looks stock.
i love how it looks, that why im looking to see if i can replace that one part under the oem intake... they call it a insulator, its plastic, but it seems like no one knows what im talking about.......... i think like a metal plate would look better

Are you referring to the black "undertray" that the stock intake sits on?
If so, you can keep that piece on with the AEM intake if you like.
I did for a few months, but didn't like how it looked so I removed it.

they are, business, and yeah like sheet metal bent, cut and drilled to fit perfect right on to the oem bolts, maybe polished aluminum. I dunno i just think it would look nice and be something that i never seen

The radiator air flow is better with the tray out but your IAT (intake air temps) can be higher, usualy from heat soke. I know someone had the AEM intake ceramic coated to keep the IAT down whch is the best of both worlds.
It looks really nice with both the intake tray gone and the battery in the trunk.

Oh ok I see. I considering removing my tray the other day too. But yeah I remember it being attached to a lot of stuff up front and the cooling fans are directly below (the tray caught a lot of sand that would have otherwise entered the fans). If you scrub the tray down it really doesn't look that bad. Hardly noticeable. If anything it makes the intake looks better because of the contrast. Trust me, everyone's eyes will be directed towards the big shiny pipe
RB is Racing Beat, a very popular aftermarket company that has a lot of experience with rotary engines and sells cold air intakes, midpipe and cat-back exhausts, ECU flashes, suspension upgrades, and more. Check out their website if you're looking for name-brand stuff.
AEM is carb legal and the same as the mazdaspeed intake so the dealer wont give you any trouble plus it can be used with many FI kits. All the intakes produce simlar results 3-5 HP and a cool sound. WOW, what a deal!!!
