Aftermarket Cat
Ok, I've looked through various threads and read up on the RP and SR cats. Here's what I need: Something that is relatively inexpensive, maybe a little more highflow, will pass a visual smog check, and won't wake up all of PB when I drive through. Dealer wanted $1500 for a replacement so......
Looks like RP is a superior product to SR but is VERY noisy and would need a resonator to keep the noise down. Bear in mind my catback is the MS sport dual muffler, which is moderately loud but not as much as other catbacks.
Suggestions would be greatly appreciated

If you're out of the warranty phase (even though I thinks some states warranty emissoins longer then standard warranty) you could always look into getting an OEM cat from Paul @ Mazmart or maybe check the F/S threads around here.
RP is not all that loud, I run it with my Racing Beat exhaust and it sounds great.

that was going to be my first question.

Since I don't care to spend $1500 and then sue for a refund, I want to cut my losses and get out of it with as little up front as possible and maybe get better performance going forward.
so you guys like the supercat?
my cat is probably toast. it's sitting at 58,000 and when I get on the gas, man does it stink like eggs.
RP is right down the street from my office so I might just go pick one up..
Is the turboXS cat back system a better deal though?
The RP Supercat is 395.
The Turbo XS exhaust is 500, and it comes with their 3" cat and race pipe.
Trying to figure out what to do since I really do need a new cat....

No CEL's recently. Last one I got was about 5000 miles ago and they said it was EVAP.
My warranty is gone as of 50k. the 60k warranty pretty much only covers engine failure or things that would relate to engine failure.
I could have RP swap out the cat, but i figured if we were going to be under the car, we might as well just replace the cat all together.
EDIT: Oh Jedi, if you mean take the stock pipe and weld in their cat, I don't know that they'll do that. I'd have to ask Chris.
