I don't care at all about if it sounds like a 350z, if anything I would rather it not. The reason I ask is every time I search for the R1-T for the 8 it brings up an exhaust for the 350z, leading me to beleive that they were interchangeable. I know that they aren't now. Yeah, sorry for bumping the thread. I just haven't been getting answers anywhere else.

All you have to do is take a look at underbody car shots to know that they won't be interchangeable:

RX-8:


350z:


Nothing at all alike.

Even a shift of a pipe by an inch or an angle difference of a degree or two could easily prevent one exhaust from fitting on a car meant for the other. Radically difference engines will inherently prevent exhausts from being interchangeable.

Even on an engine swap in the same car, the exhausts will end up being radically different.
