2009 R3 Stock Exhaust fit 2004?

As subject says. Will a 2009 R3 stock exhaust (cat-back) fit a 2004 GT? I know the exhaust tips are bigger in the '09, but will it require any mod on the '04 to get it to fit?

You will have to get the tips lowered by a muffler shop then it will fit. I have a 2010 exhaust in my wife's 04 GT...

The series 2 sounds different correct? Any other reason why you updated it?

For one thing, the exhaust tips are bigger on the '09+

not much difference in sound her exhaust had 80k miles on it and the tips were awful. Plus the 2010 exhaust was free...

The Magnaflow is not stock. Someone put it on. You will find that a lot of Mazda dealers know almost nothing about our cars. I bought my car new and it was advertised as a turbo car by the Mazda dealer.

The cat shouldn't look that bad. Its only 3 years old. A significant amount of discoloration is normal. It gets very hot. Are you sure it is a cat and not a cheap test pipe? Do you have a CEL on? Post up a few pictures.

Now he knows everything and is sure it's the cat.
FAIL

Have you owned a Rotary before?
Do you even know or understand how big the stock CATALYTIC is?

Why don't you post a pic "I know everything" dude?

The fact that you even asked about Magna-Flow being a stock muffler is laughable

EDIT
And BTW everything I know it all dude...... you've posted in the wrong sub-forum just like the idiot VAN who originally posted this thread.

This is for the Series 1 RX8's .. if you have a 2010 it's a Series 2 ... KTB
Van has an 04. His question was if a 09 exhaust would fit an 04.
