Snake oil - don't waste your money. Claiming that the mod will work for RX-7 and RX-8, while these models have different engines and different ECUs should've tipped you off... The ad isn't even consistent. It says that it is a "timing advance resistor mod", but then claims that the mod fools the ECU into thinking that the intake air is cold. Two completely different things.

I have on that a guy gave me for free??? Never been used, and likely never will. I would have to think that such a simple mod would have already been done by the manufacturer. My car is worth way to much to just start haphazardly cutting wires under the hood!!!

Since I have no intentions of using it, I will break it open and let you guys know what is inside. That may give some clues as to its intended purpose (other than make easy money for the seller).

I wouldn't bother. The only thing that this will do for sure is remove about $15 from your wallet (including shipping). It is highly unlikely that this will give you any performance gains in my opinion. It looks like it consists of a $0.10 resistor that takes the place of a sensor. If it is indeed taking the place of the intake air-temperature sensor, all it will do is mess up the air/fuel ratio.

If you really believe this will give you 20 HP, I've got a bridge to sell you too! ;-)

After fixing the settings on my Mozilla browser, I finally saw whatever that thing was. Haha. That advertisement is as good as today's music. I wonder if I buy this and the Tornado fuel saver...

People have used these on LS1s for a while and to no avail. You unplug your air intake sensor from the wire it connects to and plug the resistor into it. Then plug the wire to the back of the resistor. In effect it's supposed to adjust your A/F ratio to more lean conditions making more power. All I saw was cars running to lean which is a great way to cook somthing important. They made more power for a little bit, but not worth scorched pistons (rotors in your case). A little better would be proper tuning IMHO.
