Oh no no, I know that. I spoke with them personally at OCC ( I actually buy a lot of my JDM stuff from them.. ) and he mentioned that it's going to be a long while before they come out with theirs in the first place. Thus why I was aiming more towards RB and BHR in this case.

 

Actually they have mentioned it but just on the other rx8 forum. It is too bad they do not take a more active role here. They are local to me and if they come out with a pipe sometime before the end of the summer or early fall then I will definitely consider their midpipe.

It is all good. I was just mentioning there is a 3rd vendor involved

Jim emailed me a few days ago and asked how much the mazsport pipe was. I told him it was close to 500 shipped. $339 is an awesome deal for this pipe! Can't wait to see some pics of this bad boy.

Jim asked rex the price of the mazsport one months ago. my guess is its just a "buy one quick" introductory offer, which will eventually increase

Does anyone know if they are using the same style silencers that they used with the mazsport version?

I know they mentioned using a modified version, but is it the same style or type of silencer?

 

Same type. The guy at RB (I think his name was Mike) mentioned it was the same, just smaller. He mentioned something about making two designs possibly..one that is deeper and quieter..and one that is quiet, but really loud on high RPM. I have no idea..and this was months ago when he told me that. But he used the words "same silencers, just modified."

I think the RB uses stainless packing, correct?

 

I can't speak to the specific type of packing but if there is packing there's going to be an issue with the high EGT's. One of our local guys that has the Mazsport pipe had the packing from his front silencer blow completly out and as a result it caused the sound to change.

 

Would ceramic packing be better?

 

mine is still perfect and it was used on a boosted 8.

To answer my own question, the silencers use special high temperature ceramic wool packing that is tightly wound. Similar to their catback mufflers.

Hey guys.... My credit card has been charged for the midpipe by RB today. So it means that they started shipping them. That's good news for us waiting for it .

I didn't receive any tracking information yet.
