Had a great time today. I had a blast on Maple Hill. Always a good day when you get the cops called on you. And for the record I do own that highway.

I might even go back tomorrow.

We pissed off some old bikers on the road. They were going super slow and I got real impatient. So I went around them. At the end of the road they caught up and tried to chew us out. Real lame bikers. So when I didnt care for what they said one of them threatened to call highway patrol.

 

Haha yeah it was great. Those bikers were like 60+ years old though. I was going to stop and let them get down the road, but they flagged me to pass them so I did. Almost put my 8 in the trees cause of them, but it was a good trip nonetheless.

Hell yeah man. I literally just got back from Wilmington. I moved everything out of my apartment. Man it was a day chalked full of cleaning and moving, glad its over. Pretty soon (possibly tonight) I am going to finally lower the rear and even out the front of the car and get an alignment too. I will post up some pics once it is all said and done.

Hey fellow Wilmington guys, I've got a bit of a favor to ask. I've had trouble with NC state inspection this year because they won't pass me with smoked taillights. I've gotten the go ahead that if I get my taillights taken care of, I will pass. The problem with the smoke is that they're sprayed on. A transparent light coat of paint so I can't get it off without hiring someone to buff polish clear. If shopped around and it's not cheap. I was talking to John the other day and he thought of the idea of swapping with someone for inspection and swapping back after. I was going to swap with royalfitz today but he's got an issue with getting out the right taillight. I didn't know if it was at all possible to meet up with someone and swap out soon so I can't get my inspection and registration cleared ASAP. I got a ticket on Tuesday so I'm trying to get this done soon. Hit me up on here if this is possible for anyone. I'd owe ya

 

These state inspections are starting to get a little crazy. Were you able to get your light issue fixed/how dark were they? I was planning on darkening the lights on my 8.

 

As long as you don't tint them too dark you should be ok. Mine are tinted a bit and I have passed 2 inspections with them. Just go for a light tint and it will look good and shouldn't give you any problems.

For anyone wondering about getting a new catalytic converter... Since the stock mazda replacement is like $800.00 I decided to seek other options. I just ordered a magnaflow, stock replacement, drop in style unit for about $290.00 shipped which was the second cheapest option I could find aside from going to a shop and having one questionably welded together. I'll be going through an emissions inspection soon after installation and I'll let you guys know how it went.

 

I still have the OEM cat in my garage in Jacksonville so if anyone needs to swap it in for an inspection just let me know and we can work something out.

 

Ok, good to know. How do you like the RB dual res mid? I'm stuck between going with BHR and RB. I'm going to end up with the RB cat back in the end.
