I moved to Atlanta in May of 2001. I graduated from Laney back in 90. I used to visit quite a bit, but in the past few years I haven't had much time to travel. I tel you one thing, I TOTALLY took the beach for granted. Geezzz, what I wouldn't give to be hanging out at Wrightsville right now....I used to love to drive to the top of Shell Island and just hang out on the parking deck...enjoying the sound of the ocean...I miss it

 

Redframe...thanks for the PM...something is up with my computer, but I was able to read your message...I just can't respond. That's something about the waterfront....I can imagine it's getting built up pretty well. Last time I was there, those condos had just gone up. Can't wait to see it for myself sometime soon. Hope all is well.

Well guys i made my list for places id like to be stationed at and NC is the top of my list, hope i get here, but if i do any good suggestions for small towns that would be good for kids im wanting a small country town but decent driving distance to base

 

I'm always up for a cruise if anybody is ever around Wilmington!!!

 

Maybe there isnt any small towns??

Sorry, I just saw your post... What branch are you in? Richlands is a nice small country-ish town not far from Camp Lejeune. Also, very affordable housing there. Just a thought. If USMC that is. Beach-side of the base you have Sneads Ferry, Hampstead, and Topsail Island. All three are pretty decent, but it also depends on what you call "small". I'm from Seattle and SLC, so even Wilmington is small to me, but not for most.

 

Well im wanting a small town for my kids so they dont have to go to a huge school, im in the airforce going to be an air traffic controller small to me is theres no malls maybe a few stop lights and a movie theater the town we live in now has a walmart, movie theater and an old school main street pretty much what im looking for, if i get NC ill be there about the end of june

 

try for Pope AFB. Fayetteville isnt really that big and if you stick to the spring lake side of things its not too bad.

Yeah idk bout that one? Not too many people from NC post up on here anymore. Most of the time its on NCrx8club.com and even there isnt much more than the same 10-15 people and most of which are in charlotte.

 

Raleigh...Still have not been to the Raleigh meet...def would like to sometime.

 

I'm in asheboro. And i hate this town there are 5 or 6 other 8s here and only 1 is a decent guy that i know of
