Any one out there has any spy pics or leaked info on what should we expect for th 2007 RX8???? ?I heard a convertible version was in the making, how about that supechared Mazdaspeed 8???? is it true?

 

A convertible 4-door? Thats not likely. It would have to be a two seater, and Mazda just realised the new Miata/MX5, based on the RX8 chassis. There is no way Mazda would promote two convertibles, especially since the cars use the same platform. Plus, don't expect a rotary Miata anytime soon. Its not going to happen one year from a new model release.

 

Buddy of mine owns a Mazda dealership. He said they are coming out with a convertible. Two door, two seater. When we asked about the back seats. He said tha the top will come down over the top half of the back seats' former location and the bottom will have some compartments. Personally, it sounds kind of lame to lose the back seats.

 

I heard the same thing about a 2 door convertible RX8....it will be at a higher level than the Miata......like a luxury convertible and not a sport convertible.....
I wanted to know whats comming so I can keep brain storming what I want to get when my lease on my RX8 is over at the end of 2006...

 

Yay Mazda...make a convertible and lose a huge amount of body rigidity and take away the 8s handling...one of the few things that makes it better than other cars in its price range. That's a real smart idea.

Then you'll have a slow car that's bad on gas, has flooding problems, and is an *average* handler.
