Tire shops in Birmingham, AL?

Does anyone know of any good tire shops in Birmingham? I'm fairly new to the area and would like to ask about local tire shop reputations before I let anyone touch my 8.

Also, would any of these shops have a problem with me bringing my own tires (245/40 as opposed to stock 225/45) to mount/balance?

All of the major chains are in the area. In the past, I've spent most of my money at NTB (I think they are owned by Sears now?) I've also bought tires from TireRack, and had them mounted there, as well at smaller independent shops.

Take your car to SAAB tire. The owners name is Charlie Saab. They are very proffesionall and have no problems with you bringing your tires, or what size they are.

Agreed. They also may cost a little more but they do an excellent job!!

I buy from tirerack.com and use Big10 tires on Hwy280 and the Galleria. I used to use NTB but won't ever go back. I had too many bad experiences for simple balance and rotation work to deal with.

My 8 got new tires in Nov. - a place called Eastern Tire/Auto in Center Point was the cheapest on price.

They are my parent's neighbors and have been there for 20+ years. I dont know about the bringing your own tires though.....you'd have to call and ask them.

If you are buying tires, buy them there and they will rotate and balance for free for the life of the tires - 2 balances and rotations and i havent had any problems, but ive got nothing fancy going with the tires or anything.
