Got my confirmation today, looks like I'm doing this by myself, I guess! I think it's because most of you guys are young and have families and this is family weekend. My boys are off on their own now and my wife is heading to Florida so it sets me up for the perfect track day! YeeeeeeHaaaaa! Look out new asphalt, here I come!

Ya'll excuse me while I talk to myself...

Got an email confirmation from Jon. He will have camping available but cannot guarantee I will get back into parking if I leave for dinner.

Enjoy it. Too much work travel and not enough family time dictates that I bow out of this one.

Don't do like me at RA and make sure the camera is rolling..

Just talked to Silver - he is on the way annoying people in Macon as he drives thru with his midpipe. I made him drop down to 3rd and floor it as he was passing a GSP car on the shoulder without a pointby .

just spoke with Don and he had a blast. Said he had about 7 sessions! Learned a lot and now agrees that RR is more fun than RA. Cant wait to go back. On the midpipe--says it is not for him. To loud and too much trouble to make it a track day swap out option. He thought he did notice a little more power. But not enough positive to offset the negative.
Silver has just unfortunaly joined the "fuel starvation club"!!! He said he had real issues on turn 5 even when he was over 1/2 tank. We/he will be swapping it out soon. I am looking forward to dissecting his to see if the filter is clogged any.
But---all in all he was grinning all the way home!! Hi-- Oh Silver--away!

Wow! You guys have been having ton's of fun without me in the past. I'm already dying to go back to RR. I was having issues as OD said and came in after about 4 laps on the 5th session. I was thinking of packing it in because it was so frustrating in turn 5. When the starvation hits it just throws off your line all the way around till you get between 7 & 8. But I decided to go back out and had my two best session of the day. I got progressively better every time out and I'm very happy with the knowledge gained.

Driving solo was the best way to go and I'm glad I've finally reached that point. I did ask Rob Summers (Black RX-7/5.0 liter) to ride with me on the second session and Jon (Manager of Seat-Time) to ride on the 4th run. Both helped me tremendously as I was clueless. I watched TA's vids before leaving but when you get behind the wheel It’s a different game. Jon didn't comment the whole time we were out except for turn 1-2 as he wanted me to dbl apex instead of rim shot. Then after we got back, he gave me a very detailed plan of attack on the next solo session. It all seemed to come together after that.

I took one ride with Rob in the Hybrid 7 and that was an eye opening experience. That boy can drive! He also gave Robert (my brother) a ride.

I have to say that If you have never driven "Seat-Time", you MUST do it some time. Seven sessions is awesome. 35 drivers in 3 groups, DE, Solo & Advanced. Normally they have 45- 60 and 4 groups. This was an exception because of Easter Weekend. AWESOME!

I shot two sessions on video but I have not looked at them yet. You will get to see fuel starvation in 5 and me trying to deal with it by driving somewhat off line and straitening out the turn by blowing the apex and several other techniques to try to get it not to be mean to me.

Stay tuned!

What is a respectable time for our car? My last lap was a 1:31. Haven't checked any others yet on the vid.

Here are two video clips from one of my first sessions when I was clueless. Robert was using my small video camera that is screwed up and can't hold the telephoto properly so he had to hold it at wide angle for it to stay in focus. I got smoked by a CRX on the front straight but as I learned the track, he never did it again. The only reason I'm putting this up is so you can get a hint of what the exhaust sounded like. Sorry, I don't have anything better from outside the car.

Sorry to here about the issues and frustrations, but glad you popped the AWESOME in there. And from the clip, I would get booted out of my apt complex - but sounds nice on the track! Don't they make a resonator for that thing for non-tracking?

Dano, It's sounds great for the person that likes to make a statement. I don't really feel I need to do that. I had a lot of fun on the interstate on the way home last night. Stop and go for at least 15 miles approaching I-675. It's really not as bad as I'm making it out to be. I think it's acceptable if you just don't get on it and that is my problem... I like to drive aggressively up to the speed limit. This has curtailed my driving style and I don't want to adjust that.

I've never liked obnoxious (to me) sounding cars. A deep throaty 5.0 liter or a C6 is fine but when it gets into the higher pitch, it's just not for my old ears. Now on the track is a HUGE different story. But since 98% of my driving is done on the streets, it's a no brainier for me. Tried it, liked it for the track and I'm on to another program... Damn woman would not return the call on that Miata. I’m going put the under drive pulley on and that's it for the 8. I need to work on the driver more than the car. The car has more to offer than I know how to give as it is.

Hi Silver - 1:31 is good for your first time there. In fact that is not off the pace of what anyone of us ran at Roebling our first time there. The video from outside sounded good - just wish he was closer to the track... My first time at Roebling I stated that it was the more fun than Road Atlanta. I think RA is more dramatic but RRR is more fun.

The problem with the Racing Beat pipe is that it is catless therefore throwing a CEL light. That is a bad idea as you would never know if you had an actual problem. Changing out the cat before every track event adds several hours onto either end of the weekend. This is in addition to normal prep such as changing oil, changing pads, bleeding brakes, washing the car, packing it up, etc.
If you want more sound, the best option is a high flow cat. This way it stays on permanently. Adding a resonator to the RB midpipe seems to be a waste.
