Greetings,

Car Problem. Today a waitress (moms kitchen in ft laud) asked if I knew anything about RX8 She is having problems with car shaking when they 1st start up, and when she stops at lights. I own a 1st gen rx7 so not familiar with the RX8.

She has taken it into Dealer. and they changed the plugs, but she said problem still happens.

have them check the motor mounts. Several people (including me) have had them break down, causing the car to shake at stop lights, and at higher speeds.

Even with aftermarket exhaust, cz, etc. your car should be PERFECTLY still (besides the stick shift) when you're at a stop light.

yea, probably the mounts. I need new ones too.

the degradition of the mounts was so gradual that i would not have asked the dealer to look at it if it wasn't for some of the threads on this forum.

I just chalked it up to the borla rattling around at idle or something..

Glad they were fixed, feels like a new car again.

How many miles have you guys got on the clock before you had to change the mounts?

it was just changed around 29,000 miles. But it's had these symptoms since around 6-10k miles ago.
