RRDI presents...
NC RotorFest
Some of us in the Raliegh Rotary Drive-In have been throwing the idea around of having some kind of huge rotary event in NC. The first day of summer is June 21st and the following weekend we have an RRDI. The idea of having a max effort Rotary turnout and combine that Drive-In with a cookout at Falls or Jordan Lake might be a good idea. We want to try and get everyone that has been to an RRDI to make the effort to drive out on the first weekend of the summer to a cookout and a celebration of rotary power. We would like to extend our hands in good rotorhead fashion and invite everyone in the surrounding states to make the trip. A true Rotary powered event is what we are looking for!
We'd do the cookout, swim, play horse shoes and softball, take a few drives on some back roads in the area, have a car show, and just enjoy the cars, the sun, the smell of rotary exhaust and good food, and the fellowship unique to our rotary brotherhood.
We're looking for some kind of partial sponsorship to help offset the cost of the event...hopefully a mazda dealership or local autoparts store or catering business would like to tackle that for us.
Anyone interested in joining the effort to make this happen? Any ideas and suggestions? Please feel free to contact me.
