I'll be at the races the weekend of the 27th. Who's going? We should meet up during the weekend.

I'm really looking forward to this race. Check out the Gallery of Testing images they have up already: http://www.daytona24hr.com/24hr2005/photogallery.html

Here are a few images from their website.

Awesome! Look up "MazdaratiRob" with Roar Racing. They have 2 cars in the Koni Challange. It' will be worth your time, I promise!

I'll be there Fri-Sun. Gonna do the cheesy parade lap on Fri in the RX8 so that my dad can ride on the course.

I'll be there guys - we'll have to meet up somewhere. My group is down to only one other guy as a definite (With about 5 others as "maybes"). We'll have beer and meat, so I'm sure we won't be unpopular.

As I said in the other thread, I vote we choose to meet at one three places:

1) The "kink" in the infield portion of the track between the two hairpins. (Hard to describe a definite location)
2) The Fanzone (Easy to spot, but could be busy)
3) At one of the team garages. Perhaps an RX8 team (of course, this won't work unless everyone has purchased garage passes)

I think that can be arranged. I'll figure out some way to contact everyone either by cell or at least try to corral everyone in one spot at a specific time. I've only been one other time, so I'm not entirely familiar with the course, but I think I can whip something up. Also - a side note based on prior experience with meets - we need to find some way to identify our group so newbies can spot us even without having contact numbers.

Not really interested in RX8 tees, since I have a Z.

Lego and I are staying at the Homewood suites next to the track on Friday and Saturday night.

I would say that if everyone has Garage passes that we meet on Saturday at a certain time at one of the teams. I would vote for Playboy as they not only run badass cars but they also have eye candy

I may run out there on Friday then head home for sleep, seeing as it's only an hour or two away from me. Though, I just figured it was traditional for everyone to stay on the infield all night Saturday night.

Is there camping at the track all weekend? I may have to convince my wife that I need to drive down to this race.

Just on race day, as far as I know. I think you have to pay some crazy amount to get 4-day parking.

I just got approval from the wife to drive down. There seems to be some tight rules on the track website on what you can bring into the track. Does that apply to just the grandstands, infield, parking lot or all the above?

I will be wearing my orange Chicago Bears t-shirt for identification.
I will be in full race scanner geek mode. Also I will have FRS radio on channel 8-8.
