Roebling With Nasa-who Is Going?
I think that the 8 has been dumped on by so many people, that a lot of other drivers think it is a slow car, and that it can't not perform on the track, and it frustrates them to not be able to pull away from us liek they think they ought to be able to. I still wish other drivers would realize that we did not just get put behind them, we got there for a reason, move over and find out why.
I finally got around to watching my vids from the weekend. Good stuff indeed. What is funny is the lap times. When I found myself in traffic and having to back off to go around someone 2 wide in a corner, I still managed to turn a 1:30. Clear laps were 1:27s with a passenger and I timed a lap with Don riding with me that was 1:26-ish. The new surface makes a huge difference as the last time I videoed at Roebling it was the old surface and I was on RA1s turning 1:30s. I think that if I ran solo I could have done something in the 1:25s. Makes me wish I signed up for TTD. As is I would have beaten that TT by 3 seconds at least.
so at 1:25-1:26, you would have won TTD. maybe you need to sign up for TT next time out, would give us all a reason to go to the awards banquet, to cheer for our one and only TrackAddict.
Finally changed my Mid-Pipe out. Now I'm back to sounding normal on the street again. Thought I'd change my brake pads out but after taking off the driver front, it seems that RR was not as bad on the pads I had thought it would be. So, now all that's left to clean up from last weekend is cleaning my track tires and storing them and doing a serious clean and detail on the car. Got tons of rubber bugger marks to deal with.
My son is bringing me a scan tool from Walmart. He works there so I got a employee discount. Going to clear my CEL from the mid-pipe installation. I'll wait till my new O2 Sensor comes from Jason at Online Parts. I trashed the connector on the original one on the way down to RR last Thursday.

see some vid?
I just received my center gauge pod from lotek and I just ordered the electrical full sweep pro sport gauges. Guess I will look more a little more "refined" after the install. Sweet gauges. look them up.
RR may not be bad on brakes but my tires showed some wear! Heck I may try TT myself.

That's my fault. After coming back I was really not in the mood and now I just havent' gotten around to posting them. I will do it tonight. Swoope used my camera so he's off the hook.
I have about a dozen pics up in a sub-folder on the local site - as of now it is labeled "Untitled". It seems to not want to let me change it title - figuring out if that is my error or something I need to holler at you guys about. Only have a few more to add when I get time.
Uploaded Swoope's pics from RR. Presently there are over 50 images. Didn't see any Dano pics or Don & Donna... sorry guys. I will probably delete a few as some are pretty similar. I just wanted to get them up first. Thanks Swoope!

really nice turn in 1-2-3 segment TA! Ballast does make a difference! Still ballast or not---very nice.
It was good for me seeing your shift points and then comparing them to my own etc.
good vid as always.
Keep them on the track master instructor.
just did a home vacuum test on mine and i am pulling 16-17 inches so no new engine for me.

good god you were hauling ***. redline between 5 & 6, wow.
but I have a question, you hit the beep right after the start/finish line, were you trying to get up to the rev limiter, b/c you stayed on the throttle and did not shift to 5th. just curious.
and we need to re-size that pic of OD and his hot pipes, it is really screwing with this page of the thread...

I think fourth at the end of the straight was the plan of attack for must of us this time. Assuming you get out of the last turn fast, knocking on the door of the rev limiter is good for 130-134 depending on who's car your in. I'm gonna have to re-eval the downshifting that TA does. I'm carrying the whole thing in forth. I don't recall ever having an issue dropping out of the powerband. That is how I got my student to learn the weekend as well. I didn't want him having to worry about shifting...just learn the track..........(lol, listen to me..."but I stayed at a holiday inn express....").
I am in third for turn 1, and then down shift back to third for turn 4, stay there until after the carousel and then in fourth back to turn 1. I was not carrying enough speed to stay in fourth for turn 1 and 2. and, if i was not in third for turn 6, I would not get the same feeling that I like so much powering out of turn 6.
BTW, what are they calling all of the turns now, it is a little confusing, since they re-numbered them last year?

On Sat I stayed in 4th down the front straight. I got to the rev limiter a couple of times depending on my exit from 9. On Sunday I mostly shifted to 5th just past the start/finish. It was definately slower!
L8 - when you were there last, we worked out your shift points to suit your speed etc. BAsed on how you drove the track, I wouldn't change a thing. Maybe next time you carry more speed into 1 and keep it in 4th for that.
[I deleted my post of OD's hot tail]
Silver - I think not having you in the car may be worth 1 sec tops. I can gain more time by carrying more speed into 1, and more speed through 6/7 and 8/9. Overall, I think there is around 2-3 seconds left by refining my line and throttle pick up points. I think a pro driver in my car could do the track in 1:22.
