we could also drive down to uwf and park in front of this new huge engineering building they are building. that would look cool having about 16 or so rx8's on the interstate. btw where at cordova are we meeting? the food court entrance? there's usually an open parking lot there, but kinda secluded

 

I was thinking we will meet in the best buy parking lot to gather everyone. Then we can move inside to get some food. I was then thinking we could go for a quick drive down 110 to scenic highway and then maybe escort some of these bama guys along 10 on there way home. We can then take 85 to navarre and everyone head home... If that is to long we can then cut it off scenic highway and everyone can disperse. So yea thsi meet looks like its going to be a very good one. Im catching some of the RX8's running around here and trying to get them involved too. I literally chased one down on my work's box truck. I was flashing my lights and everything at this guy. Finally got him to pull over and got talking with him and he wants to get down there but he got a cruise to go on. He said he be at the next one. Then at the end of the day I was leaving work on my 8 and chased another one down into the mall. We drove around the mall twice before he parked. I think he was trying to lose me but just couldnt do it. He finally parked and when he got out I waved him over to my ride. He spoke very little English but gave me a number to his english speaking friend (LOL) and said to talk to him. They said they would think about it to. Im gone catch every 8 in this town (and thats really not much) and see what I can get. It would be cool to have a good sized convoy down to pensacola and then meet up with an even bigger one.

 

i was in Gulf Breeze yesterday and ate at Shane's rib shack and saw an 8 there. i was looking for the driver in the restaurant and saw a mazda key and talked to him about this site and about the meet. he said he might check it out.

 

fwiw - might wanna get ahold of a place and let them know about a possible group of 20-25.

i was just reading an old post that i did when i joined the site, you know what would be awesome is if we could do a huge meet to somewhere like Disney or Busch Gardens or Six Flags over GA or something

Looks beautiful - however a couple concerns..

I don't see an obvious place to pull 15 cars over. I see a parking lot just as the route turns and heads east, however - but it's some distance from the beach. Now, along the road I see lots of empty sand. Will we need to bring shovels to dig out? How's the shoulder there for parking on? I'd love to see marked (+/-) pull-over spots, in case some get separated. Anyone have FRS radios? We could drop a few cell numbers once we meet up and establish leads and trailers, etc..

Sorry to over-analyze or over-plan...that's just me.

I will be driving the route this weekend and taking pictures of locations we can stop for photo ops. I am new here and it is probably a good idea to try and make the route familiar. As for the radios... i believe i have 4 deff 2. We can exchange numbers before we leave for the drive.

Kane are you thinking about coming up? You have a place to crash if you need one. Since you don't have your car here you can hop in with me or someone else.

 

that route looks outstanding. it should be fun but here is a little food for thought. We are meeting at 2 or 230 right? is there gone be enough daylight to eat, bullsh*t, and then go one this drive and still get some good shots? just curious.

ok i just got my work schedule and there's a mandatory meeting i have to be at at 7:00 pm. so at 12, if i go to my early service i should get there about 12:30ish.

 

moving the time to the left sure helps guys like me who have a 3 hour drive home...and work on monday.
