NOV 19 Rotaries & Miatas ORLANDO
If anyone is interested, this is from Miatas.net via East Side Miatas site.
I will most likely go if anyone else is interested. I know most of you are over there anyway. Sounds like the East Side crew will be there and the Miata.net group is pretty big also. I don't know who in the rotary family they have sent this too- so here it is....

It sounds like an all day event. I will talk to the group I am driving over with today and see what time they plan on getting there. Traffic sucks......

So this event is from 10am to 6pm in Orlando.
There are several Mazda clubs going and it sounds like an all day event. I am working on getting information about food, events, and parking.....if anyone has info they can add, please do.
Can someone see if you can give us a better map? I am not sure where that is......
It sounds like there will be a large RX-7 group as well as Miatas...the event has been registered with the state and it is a casual event......
The Rotary guys and Miata groups are bringing parts to do a swap meet. I am really excited about this meet. If you have parts you can bring them, also bring chairs to sit and talk. James (2ndShift) and I will probably stay overnight to avoid the traffic going home.....

The event coordinator over in Orlando wanted to know if we would like to reserve a spot for the RX-8 group. If we do, I will need a head count to get us a spot.

I think I read somewhere that RX8Honey would be out of town that weekend.....
If it is a small group we can hang next to the East Side group and still have a lot of fun.
We could do that a/c insulation install you did? Do you want to help me with that? I really like how you had yours done. do you remember what length tubing of that material you bought? Black zip ties. and that ribbed plastic for the nipple....
I also want to take that intake tube off, but haven't had a chance yet. We could also do that together if there is some down time in the morning. I am guessing that it may be a little slow at first.

We coming from Tampa can all drive over together with that ESMTB group. They will know where to go....
The event info at the beginning states that they will have signs out and I think it gives the coordinator's phone number. KYLiquid, why don't you and Danny meet somewhere or post a meeting place. I will work on a meet spot from my end for Tampa folks that want to go.
Who from Tampa is planning on staying over night. We were contimplating getting a hotel room down near the Pleasure Island stuff to drink and walk around in the evening if anyone is interested. I know there is a meet in the eve as well that a few of the Orlando guys were talking about. If no one else is staying overnight we will just stay at my parent's house. I don't want to deal with Sat night traffic to Tampa.

the AC insulation is really easy and takes about 15-20 mins to do. I got all the stuff at home depot. The pipe insulation only comes in one length, but the diameter you need is 1/2 in I belive, ill double check. There are also 2 kinds, a grey foam kind, and a darker charcoal ruber foam kind, get the ruber foam, its better quality, and my melt test showed it help up to more heat, plus is looks better under the hood.
I would just give you the rest of my foam, but It takes about 1/2 of it to do the job and I used half of what was left for another car, so i dont have enough to do the job. although I think you could do 2 cars with one peice if you want to split it with another owner.
Other than the foam you just need zipties, I got black, standard zip ties, 6" i think, but that doesnt matter, you can just cut off the excess. it just needs to be at least about 4" long. to do the part around the check valve, you want black SPLIT LOOM tubing, I think it was 1.5 inch or 1.25 inch.
Foam insulation : 6-8 bucks I think
Zip Ties (i had them already) a bag of 25 is about 6-8 bucks
and the split loom was bout 6-8 bucks. I think total investment was under 30 with tax, but I had some of the suff and I bought other sutff at the same time...for some other little mods you might be interested in...ill tell you about them later.
That AC line job you could do about anywhere, the only tool you need is a razor blade/knife.
as far as pulling off the VFAD duct, thats an easy job, but you have to pull the front bumper off, it wont take more than 1-1.5 hrs to do, start to finish, but im not sure if you want to be doing that at a meet.

I will be installing the oil screens this week. I will take a look at that intake, but not sure if I want to take that sound dampener tube off without something to replace it.
Sounds like a plan is forming. I have 7 definates on my side. Two RX-8s and the rest Miatas. I think we are going to get a hotel room to avoid the traffic. Any other Tamponians (ha ha) want to come with?.....this is a great opp to really test out your car on a nice drive (DD, forget the housework :P).
