Driving Directions to the GRR of NC

I drove out to the GRR location on Sunday and thoroughly enjoyed the drive to I-85 and then from 85 up to Farlow Farms. See the attachment below for directions. Travel times will vary depending on time of day and highway construction in progress. I-40 between Raleigh and Dueham is not a good route anytime due to road construction and exit closing along this stretch of I-40. Road and traffic conditions on Highway 70 to Durham from Raleigh are much better. There will be directional signs at the critical intersections off of I-85, Hwy 501, and at the Hwy 96/98 intersection.

If anyone has any questions please PM me.

Here is the rally address:

Farlow Farms
9210 quail Roost Rd
Bahama, NC 27503

The nav system in my FC is my wife and a State DOT map. Does your nav system give you audio feedback like "no dummy you missed the turn, turn around at the next intersection and go back!" or "its time to stop somewhere and ask for directions" or "Do you have any idea where you're going?"

I got that now and it didn't cost me extra, mine is even portable. I can take her from car to car and she operates just as good in the RX7 or in the acura, Plug & Play!

Any luck rounding up some other 8 owners. I need commits by noon Thursday to insure we have enought food for all.

When we post the pics of the rally don't get left out of the first Rotary Rally of NC. We'll be taking pics for the forum but also for a 2005 Rotary Calendar for next years events and Drive-Ins. Clean & Shine your rotary wonder and join us for a great time on the road.

Ok. Rode out to 85 tonight. On Red Mill Rd there is an Exxon that we can meet at. It is right off the interstate. The Rally starts at 2pm, so you guys want to meet there at 1:15? That should give us plenty of time to get to the Rally point!

Bert, ive got 2 extra coming in a VR4 (remember the green one!). So it looks like our count is 6: me, my girl, 8s enough, Horse, and 2 in a VR4. Anyone else? Last call :D .

Great, I'll count on 6 from this side and it looks like we're going to have 31 from the RX7 world, owners, friends, wives, etc. I am gonna have to increase my target estimate to 40 owners and guests. Let me know if you get commits from anyone else.

There will directional signs just on the other side of I-85 from that first intersection after you pass under 85 until you get to the Rally. It is a nice drive thru the country to Farlow Farms.

I am trying to run down Dale, the guy with the Titanium fully moded RX8. If anyone on this site knows him or can send him an email please contact him and let him know about the GRR.

Again thanks Bobby for keeping all the RX8 owners informed.

Bert

No problem. There will only be 1 in the green VR4. So that brings us down to 5 . Anyone else bringing friends and family?

I havent seen, herd from, or talked to Dale. I sent him a PM a week ago about it, but he hasn't checked it. It looks like its been a while since he's been on here.
