I'm gonna be in town 13 Friday 05 to visit Charlie and company for a while, visit my brother, pick up some stuff, etc.

We have a small group getting together after the fat lady sings at quitin' time at Andretti's for food, fun, and who knows what else.....I'm not for sure but guessin' things to get started sometime between 6:00 and 7:00.

We'd love to have all that can make it show up to meet, greet, and play.

Well, I was in the process of responding to Phlash when my boss bolted into my office and I had to promptly and illusively click on the close box after writing a lengthy little response, which included a paragraph about the video, Nabil, here in out referred to as "The Video"! I wasn't able to get back online until I got home. How dare he to interrupt me in the middle of my forum browsing! Is there nothing I can do about such invasive authority? :o

As I was saying in my previous attempted post...

For those that were in our RX8 group from the NASA Road Atlanta event, I will have a DVD of all the high resolution images for you at our little get together on Friday. There is no browser interface so you will need to peruse them using your own method of viewing images. I do have them separated in 3 directories by date. They are unedited and some may need adjusting the levels, cropping, curves etc. Some should probably be pitched. Any way you will have every image to play with.

Now, "The Video"... like I told Nabil the other day, it will take me at least 80 hours to pull it together and I've not found the time to work on it yet, I will, I promise! Just please don't pin a target on my back bumper at Andretti's. :D

I'm hoping Charlie gets my sway bars in Friday AM. If so I'm going to try to get over there for the install of my bars and screens.

Guys, that was awesome! I enjoyed meeting more 8club members. We have a great group and I expect it will keep growing.

The cars were DEFINATELY different. Getting a slow car is really a bummer. My first one was so slow I think everyone passed me. My second car rocked (#4). If anyone goes back, try to get that one.

Charlie, your a hell of a driver. I liked it best when you were in front of me. Much better than when you were in my side! :eek: Can't wait till tomorrow to see if I can move when I wake up. I think I'm going to start calling you T-Bone!

I can echo SilverEIGHT's post. Not all karts are created equal. I raced with Chest Rockwell and winblu8 at 9:00. That car #8 was certainly slower than the #4 I raced at 9:40.

winblu8, can you post those times for the 9:00 race?

My favorite picture that Val took was where Charlie Nabil and Chris are getting out after the last race. I might have to hang that one in the garage, or at least put it in the bottom of the bird cage...

Nabil, You told me I would be sore and you were right. These little carts will beat the hell out of you. How is your neck?

OH MY! I noticed on the DVD's I gave you guys from then NASA event... I spelled RX-8... XR-8! :eek: . . . . Dumb Ass I am! I was in a rush to get out yesterday and didn't pay attention. Sorry! That kind of blows the whole label.

A great time time indeed! It was really nice to see everyone again and meet new folks as well. This little group of ours is really growing and it sure is cool to see a parking lot full of shiny 8's wherever we go.

Next time I'll have to get a better cart because I know I've got mad skills! No, really, come on won't someone believe me? I'm almost sure I used to be good behind the wheel.

FYI: Speed channel is showing the Grand am cup race from Mazda/Laguna Seca at 1pm today. Speedsource put on a show worth watching and apparently got good tv coverage.

I think it was not ribs as previously thought. Judging by this morning’s pain I'd say it is a well-pulled mussel or two. Much better than having to deal with the rib issue.

As promised here are the shots I have from last night. SilverEIGHT, Phlash and winblu8 picture sure did come out great. The other row of beauties, not so much. I guess that means I have to show up next week camera in hand to get better ones, huh?

Oh and for those of us that just can't seem to get enough, Nov.11 2005 is the 6hr enduro at Charlotte. Check out the details www.endurancekarting.com. Depending on how many are able to go, I might be able to have Johan hook us up with some kind of group rate.
You can have a look at the course on the website. the karts are similar to Andrettis but faster by about 20-25mph. They have enough grip that you will want a rib protector as a part of your equipment. This stuff really makes me laugh when someone says that racers are not real athletes! I figure with this much time we can all be in great shape by November
to kick some serious butt.

OK, my plan is to visit your shop on Tuesday for the install unless something comes up.

Would we run: GT1, GT40 or GTBB?

GTP - Pro-Class Team members who have more than one year wheel-to-wheel racing experience.
GT1 - Rookie-Class Team members who have less than one year wheel-to-wheel racing experience (Max. 1 experienced drive per 3 man team or more).
GTS - Super-Rookie Absolutely the first racing experience for all members of the team.
GT40 - Master-Class Team members who have an average age of 40 years or older.
GTBB - Big Boy Team members who have an average weight of 190lbs. or over.

well I am hoping to lose enough weight to fit into a 2 piece this summer so GTBB is out for me! Seriously, we should probably think about GT1 or GT40. We have won in GT40 before. I am assuming that we have an average age of 40?

Well I have to jump in here and break the curve. Dont worry with me participating there will be no question! Currently I am at 189lbs and Wendy's are giving away free frosty's. So I dont know about the weight.
