Exclamation Koni Challenge Race - Homestead-Miami Speedway March 14-15 FREE Admission

http://grand-am.com/koni/

Thats right!

March 14-15, 2009

Grand-Am is trying to promote the Koni Challenge Series by making the second race of the season at Homestead FREE to all spectators.

Here is the website to download your FREE ticket: http://grand-am.com/koni/news/index.cfm?cid=20735
Print as many as you want for friends and family.

Also, infield parking will be available for car club corals. The price for this is FREE! I just need a car count for each group.

SATURDAY is the best day. Although both days are filled with racing.

VENDORS: You can set up a tent and table with parts, a show car or anything else you can imagine. I only need to know the space requirements you will be needing. As further details arise I will pass them on. Oy yea its FREE for you too.

The track will have its concession stands open selling food, drinks and beer. However you can bring your own beer in a soft sided cooler.

Basically we need you to help spread the word. The more people the better. Homestead-Miami Speedway is looking for 5000 people. Hopefully this will encourage them to do this event next year with greater benefits to you.

we're looking for 100-150 cars for our corral for the entire weekend.

The Grand Am Experience for Mazda Owners is shaping up to be an amazing experience for all who wish to come out and support the Grand Am Rolex and KONI series! Grand Am hopes to put on a truely unique experience for Mazda owners that love to spend their time at the track.

Here are a few of the perks that are in the works for the 2009 season. Each race will be posted with full details, but here are some teasers!**

1. Parade Laps (at select tracks)

2. Hospitality tent or indoor facility when available

3. Tech Talks with KONI, Hoosier, Pirelli and Grand Am Officials

4. Driver Meet and Greets (private)

5. Track Tours

6. Pit Crew Challenge

7. Crew member for a day on a Mazda team ( by drawing)

10. Eric Meyer or another driver-owner will do a Grand Am 101

11. Crew Chef Q & A where you can get some advice from the leading crew chiefs

**Please note that all offers may not be included at every track or event. The organizers of each event will do their best to offer as many experiences as possible, however, not every even will offer the same things. All experiences are WHERE APPLICABLE and not 100% for every event. Please make sure you check back often for updates on what will be offered at what track.

short info here.

this used to be the indy / daytona prototype and gt race..

we got to park inside the track under the grandstands.. great event, well taken care of..

and i will say the koni series and mustangs will have better racing than the previous events..

the gs and st series running separate. should be great. from the grandstands you can follow the racing almost all the way around the track. they have jumbo tron for the rest..

if you go to the infield you get to see, hear, smell, feel it up close. cold pit access is silly. you can really get right up to the cars as they are being worked on..

and for free? that is just silly.. who do i tip??

and i dont work for the speedway.. but i do miss alex!

the Indy/ Grand-AM race has been moved back to the end of the year. Whenever Koni races in Miami they do it their own weekend. Last year koni didn't race here; 2 years ago they did on their own.

yea i don't understand how more people haven't signed up yet... its great racing, and FREE.

Hay Swoope! Long time no see...I hope all is well. Whatever happened to Alex?

Anyways, I can attest to what Swoope is saying. There are parts of the track that you can walk to and literally smell the exhaust, burnt rubber, gas, etc. I have a picture of one of the Porsche race cars ,from literally 10 feet away from me, that was involved in a collision. I have video of the Speedsource Rx8's racing also like 10 feet away from me. It's incredible! Looking at the race from the stands is great but nothing beats going to the infield. You get jelous...You want to be behind the wheel. I'm telling you it's worth the cost of a regular ticket + the cost to get access to the padock area. We're getting this for free? WOOOOOHOOOOOO!!!

Kinetic Motorsports brand brand new e92 M3. It was never run in neither of the 2 pre-season tests. 1st lap, 1st race, exiting turn 1 a Mustang taps it in the rear and sends Nick Johnson head on into the pit exit concrete wall at 80 mph. Car is presumed to be TOTALED! cost of a new e92 from BMW Motorsports is $200,000. ouch
