What in the world is there to do there? I dont like the bar scene and I dont drink... ive also heard it is ghetto.. a big crime area... Im looking for something fun to do (maybe shop) between the 20th and 23rd of this month.... anybody have ideas or know of anything?

There's nothing to do anywhere in the Midwest. Period. Why are you heading there, though?

 

Memphis is not the mid-west..

 

I live here in Memphis and there is not much to do other than eat. We have some of the best small restaurants in the country. It is extremely ghetto and in the top three cities for crime beating out some larger ones for #1 car jackings and murders a couple years HUZZAH! But if you want to have fun here explore the restaurants around town and try a little of everything.

 

It's not that bad here. Matter of fact, I've lived here just about all my life and happen to like the damn place.

I like to do the Grizzlies or Tigers games but the Grizz don't have a home game that weekend nor do the Tigers so no luck there.

As stated before we have some nice places to eat. There's a new place called Flemings Steakhouse that is very good along with MANY other places to eat that are very nice.

If your looking to shop there is a new mall in Collierville (just outside Memphis) that is nice and be sure to check out Peabody Place downtown to shop and have some fun.

If you feel like it or are into it you could checkout Graceland (personally, I've never been but others seem to enjoy it).

We have some fairly nice casinos just south of us about 30 minutes away that are worth checking out.

And the best attraction of all is a gorgeous blue RX8 parked outside my office right now. I usually don't let tourist see it but....

Bottom line, as far as medium sized cities go Memphis is pretty decent. Its not as bad as its made out to be (as long as you stay out of certain areas). I'd check out downtown but then stay in surrounding areas to check out the shopping, food, etc .

Yeah it does really depend on what areas you travel here. I'd day the best areas of town are downtown, midtown, bartlett, and cordova if you want to shop. Nice mall in cordova called wolfchase. Check it out. Also I have yet to see a blue rx around town. What area you in?

 

i think im going to be right near wolfchase... that sounds like the right place. The reason I am going there is my parents have a business meeting there and Im 'babysitting' my 15 yr old brother.. its either babysit here or babysit there, and id rather not be here lol! i want to check out memphis.. im not going to turn down a free trip! ill probably be at the mall most of the time and the food places the other time.. thank you guys so much! out of the rx7 forum ,the msprotege forum and this one you guys were definately the most helpful!! thanks again!

Imabnormal, I'm usually around Germantown, Cordova, and Bartlett. Which 8 are you in town? Color/Area? Its kinda cool knowing there's another 8 "driver" in town since every random 8, which is not that many at all, I've seen are just there (don't wave, don't want to play, etc).

Come on Memphis RX8 drivers, wave damn you, wave! (I miss the wave from my Jeep days).

 

I am in a TI grey rx with appearance and no spoiler. Only one in town like that I think. I live in raleigh/frasier but work in the bartlett/cordova area and tend to hang out in east memphis and I always wave to other RX's. We need to have a little meet sometime maybe choose a place and all the RX's we can find show up. I know two others myself.

 

I live in Cordova - not far from Wolfchase. There really is a lot to do - depending on what you are looking for. Restaurant, shopping, Mini-golf here is the # 1 tourist attraction in Western Tennessee. Plenty to do for both you and your little brother.
