OK, we got a group wanting to play in the mountains this Sunday. Meet at 9:30 at the MacDonalds just past the Premium Outlets, on the left hand side of the road, up 400. All are welcome to join! Guess we can discuss the route at that time.
As of now:
- Splan8
- Nabil
- valpac
- SilverEIGHT
- Trhoads
- WhiteTop
- djseto

Edit: Deleted map because it was the wrong McDonalds

Nope, the one we should meet at is right on the highway, you can not miss it. That one is off the road, and on the other side of the highway. Take 400 north, pass the outlets, they are on the left, or west side of the road. Past the outlets, on the west side of the highway, there is a mickey d's on the corner. there is a gas station next to it, good for checking oil and tire pressure.

An address would be helpful since there are a few along that road...

I'd think we could be back by 3:00. I understand the Father's day thing. I plan to have dinner and spend the evening with my son. I planned to do the Gwinnett Fairgrounds on Saturday. I'll work with the group whatever everyone wants to do. I think I can do the Fairgrounds on Sunday as well so I shouldn't miss anything if I exchange days.
I prefer to get out early to beat the crowds.
My car is in the shop tonight waiting for her 7500 mile physical. She is going to want to stretch her legs this weekend.

I agree about getting out early, beat the crowd, and get back in time to watch the final round of the U.S. Open. :D
I can't go Saturday, I have an early tee time at East Lake. Most of the Sunday drivers won't be on the mountain roads that early on Sunday.

Who wants to be " In Charge ".
I am sure that I will be the first one up there, I think I am one of the closest, and notoriously early to everything. Anyone that wants a contact number, PM me, and I will give it to you. Not that I want to be in charge or anything. :D

trhoads, I'll PM you with my cell phone #.
whitetop works at the same company with me. I invited him to tag along. He drives a Miata and has expressed interest in speed so it seemed like a natural invite. He took his Miata to Commerce last weekend to see what it would do. Actually that would be kinda fun. Maybe we should do that sometime as a group. Could you imagine showing up with a caravan of 12 RX8s and take over the track?

It would be cool, I did not know there was a track there, what is it called, and is there a website to look it up on.

I'm working with my video cameras tonight. Trying to figure out how to use two in my car for the twisties. I tried my small one outside the car. Kind of freaky cause an $800 camera is a terrible thing to waste! I need to tie it down with bungees or something, even if it does look secure. I hope to be able to mount my big Canon XL1. It's a big momma but it sure does a great job with both audio and video. Looking forward to Sunday guys.

Yea! This is quickie stuff. The NASA vid is serious time consuming s#!t. Plus on my website the statistics have in order of viewing for this month:
1. Charles Hill NOS Run (He has twice the views as another movie)
2. Richard B. Russell mountain Run
3. Tuner Session
4. The Spin (that be you)
5. 1-55-73 Lap (that be you)
6. Chase Down (that be you)
I can't let you catch up to me so I gotta make another mountain run but better. Oh and speaking of the que... Don't forget the MAZCARE boys tearing up the drifting track. Should have those up next week.

I had a great time guys. It was nice to meet new members. I can't wait to look over the videos from the in car and the trunk mount. Probably the best view will be from the rear, while stuck in slow moving traffic, with the truckload of locals staring at my camera going "What the hell is that?" (Steve Martin, SNL)
Anyone wanting to submit images, feel free to send them to my email address: don@silvereightstudio.com and I will put up on my website. Try to keep an email to less than 3 megs.
Nabil: I'll look the CD over and see what I can work with. I'm sure anything you have is gonna be good. You told me we took it easy today and I'm glad we did as the roads were VERY busy.
Trhoads: Now I finally have the Travis thing worked out. You and Splan8 had me all confused. It was a pleasure meeting you.
Isujim: Welcome to our group. I look forward to seeing you out with us again.
Valpac: Well, the suction cups didn't come loose so no one caught a DVCam in their air cooler. Next time it's safe for me to shoot the front of your car instead of the rear. You scared the hell out of me when you passed on the top of the hill on the dbl yellows.
wht05rx8: Didn't see much of you. When you take off it's kind of like watching Nabil disappear.
Splan8: Thanks for all the info this weekend on autox and such. I will put July 10 on my calendar. Since my birthday is July 18, maybe my wife will buy me a helmet! Fat chance! :D
WhitTtop: Welcome to our group. You were concerned about keeping up but even though your car got impelled on a hazard of some sort at one of the rest areas, you managed to catch back up with us. See ya at work tomorrow.
M3Doc: It was a pleasure meeting you today and welcome to the club and our little group... even if you can't seem to get your registration completed.
