Thanks for trying to include us, but...
Taking an rx8 to the dyno is kinda like sending flowers to a stripper...it's best avoided because you're setting yourself up for disappointment and embarrassment. lol.

Well, you would know better than I but does that also mean that performance mods on these cars are without merit beside sound quality? I know you start out with similar numbers to the S2K but no experiece beyond reading the numbers and various post.

Yeah, it's my opinion that for the most part the '8 is what it is, and not so much what you can build it to be. Standard intake/exhaust/tune mods might get you 15rwhp on a good day, after a $1500 investment. Then if you go turbo, that's a whole other can of worms...you gain 75-125rwhp for 5-10 grand, and you cut the already shaky engine reliability by 75%.
