Yeah, most of us bought the car because we thinks it looks nice as-is. I don't really get the whole body kit thing, 99% of them are useless and ugly up a nice looking car. Only decent one is the MS, imo.

well I know there is at least one MS kit around here in Melbourne. But I think the MS kit is played out. They are almost everywhere. Just because I'm looking at body kits doesn't mean I don't like the way the car looks.

I'm actually looking mostly at the Auto Bahn kit, I've only seen one pic of it, But I think it looks nice and clean.

I saw a Titanium Grey one yesterday on Edgwater and Lee but never got close enough to find out for sure. I only saw the back side in traffic.

BTW Rhawb it seems that you have the "Appearance Package", what's the matter? Didn't you like the way the car looked?

Now as much as your comment is appreciated, maybe you should sit the next couple plays out. Yeah,...

The appearence pkg is OEM so it isn't considered aftermarket like other body kits. I personally prefer the clean look of the stock 8. But hey that's just my taste. Some aftermarket kits actually accentuate the design of the 8 while others aren't so complimentary. Just boils down to personal preferences.

Eh, Auto Bahn kit is clean enough, but something about it is goofy looking. Plus $850 for the front end is a bit rich for my blood I'd rather be investing that money elsewhere in the car.

Hey Damien, don't sweat it. We all see different things in this car. Danny has that Veilside kit and it is very unique compared to the Mazdaspeed kit.

Have you checked the thread in the Aftermarket section on body kits? They have everything in there with pictures. That is about as good of a look as you are going to get this year. I am sure you will see more in the upcoming year, but most 8 owners havent had their cars for a year yet.

Here is a favorite link for kits, but everything is listed on that AM thread.

takakaira.com

There are a few thing that should be important when purchasing a kit, besides the appearance in my opinion.

Function before fashion- is it really more aerodynamic

Can it be removed easily for other mods, a lot of cheap kits require a ton of fitting

Materials-some kits are repairable, where others can't be fixed easily

Quality - made by a manufacturer that backs up his product if you spend that much money

Face it, there is not a lot of option in the cheap mods department for this car. If you are going to spend the money and wait a long time for it to be shipped make sure you get what you want.

I personally am hot on the FEED kit myself, but my husband likes the Ings kit. A lot of people like the Autobahn street kit. There is a guy I know in St Pete that has the RB kit which is nice as well. Are you looking for traditional, rice, race, or clean?

well that's why I posted for CFL kits, I've seen some pictures I want to get a look in person, which really won't be possible it seems. I hate the "agressive" rice look, such as that of the Veilside kit.

I like the mazdaspeed kit, but It's a bit too common now. Therefore I was looking at the Auto Bahn, Ings, and kind of the R-Magic (1st) kit. I already did the research and priced them out things like that. I've been pretty much settled on the Auto Bahn kit. But the Ings kit still seems like a viable option.

You're not alone there. Anything that looks tacked on or adds visible body seams just doesn't cut it.

RX8Honey and I were battling about who was getting the Autobahn kit first. However, a major purchase last week forces me to withdraw my bid to be the first in CFL. I'll leave the rice to the girls.
