I wanted to gauge how many people are interested in a meet in May or June at Race Rock. If someone would post on the RX7 website as I am not a member there and see if there is any interest before we try to set something up. I was thinking all things rotary invited, or all things Mazda any suggestions?

 

What's race rock? Or...where is it?

 

Race Rock is a racing themed restaurant on International Drive in Orlando.

I'm in. All mazda's would be a greater turnout (imo).

 

The meet at Race Rock last year turned out great, and if we lobby properly maybe we can get a different area so that the cars aren't split up, then take a copter ride and get some photos from the air! A bit further down I-drive there is the outlet mall where Bass Pro shops and Vans Skate Park are located...that parking lot is HUGE! I'd bring the family down for a visit...

 

We wanted to see how much interest there was, prior to setting everything up. Now can some one who belongs to rx7club.com post a link to this and see if they are interested?

 

As an RX-7 owner, I can do that for you. The Jacksonville group is having one May 28th that may draw some people from the same area, so a later date might be better. Or earlier.

Yea I agree! BTW if any of you want you can come to a mazda meet that we are having on April 23rd at Jay Blanchard Park. The meet is at 11am till whenever. All mazdas are welcome :D For more info check out www.floridamazdaclub.com

I'd be down. Last year's meet was a lot of fun, even though my 7 was in the shop.

 

BTW, we've been trying to get something going here in Central Florida but there have been conflicts of schedules with other events and etc. A meet in June would be great. Lets see how many RX-8s and RX-7s we can get this time.

 

I agree that June would be good. Preferably mid to late June.

 

I'd be up for a meet at Race Rock....good food and plenty of racing games!

we had a blast at last years...it was almost a year ago (april 24th):D i did such a good job. haha, but i couldn't have done it without my helpers!! So make sure whenever you plan this, you have helpers too. it's not as easy as it seems. but i'm down

 

I have been pm'ing epithoriod (spelling?) to see about setting this up and if anyone wants to help by all means pm epithoriod.

 

yea, brian was my biggest help (as well as randy) last year. I honestly couldn't have done it without the two. If ya'll need any other help, just let me know and i'll get on whatever it is i can do

Also, Vero I think I seen you maybe there's a handful of rx8 in lakewood aprk and that's about it for vero. I live in Palm Bay but work in melbourne. Probably the only yellow ( although I've heard there's another in Suntree/Viera ) in the area.

Uhhh..as long as it isn't the 24-26. i'll be down in orlando for the big supra/exotic meet with some friends of mine. (the coordiator is a good friend..and no i'm showing up in an 8. lol. z06) but what about doing it in aug? It's too soon to set up now for really anytime this summer. You're not going to give people enough time to show up. Plus, it you want other rotarys it has to be posted on the rx forums. Then you have to schedual stuff w/race rock and they'er usually pretty busy in the summer.....Just my thoughts. We organized the one last april in jan (or sometime close to that) It all worked out awesome.

Taking all that into consideration...what are thoughts?
