It depends on what you want it to look like and what sound you are after. How much do you want to spend?
There is some good info in the Series 1 tech section.
I'm probably going with the TurboSX kit and cutting a Davesprt cat into the mid pipe since my wife hates the exhaust smell with the AP midpipe.

actually I was looking at the turboSX as well. I want to do this car right so if it is expensive then I will save up. I cut corners on my previous car and I ended up blowing the engine. I don't want to make the same mistake

A good sounding exhaust combo is the GReddy SP cat back with either a Racing Beat or BHR midpipe.
Local guy Race Roots has a nice exhaust that is reasonable also.
Exhaust song damage you're car as long at I'd doesn't have a restriction at the cat. You also won't gain any real power from adding an exhaust to you're rx8. Maybe 10hp total for header, midpipe and cbe.

and I understand that it won't gain anything, I'm just the typical person that wants the exhaust so people will look at me. and I also have my eye on a JDM turbo kit

The GReddy turbo is a good kit and can be found for under $4000 but it needs about $1700 in upgrades to make it worth it.
There are a few custom turbo kits out but it seems that the builders are pretty shady and have done some people wrong so its kinda sketchy to spend the $7000 on those.

If you are just going for show and sound than the TurboXS, Agency power and Race Roots exhausts are fine. Good quality and looks. Decent sound.

that's why it takes me a while to get anything because I never know who I'm buying from so I don't know if they are ever 100% honest with me or not
